3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Bottle: Deep brown mahogany and mostly opaque with a huge, chunky khaki head that settles slowly. Aroma is sour, funky cherry skins. Tart with a dry, musty funk far in the background. Light vanilla and some dry oak in the finish. Taste is plenty of sour cherries and sour grapes with a big vinous and oak flavors. Very nice tartness, gets the saliva glands sweating big-time. Sweet, dying tartness, cherry and grape, oaky finish. Tasty stuff, seems to have more bottle variation than most other Cascades; some bottles have a mild medicinal tone, others are completely void.

Pours hazy deep red with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, cherry, tart and funky. Taste is medium sweet and medium sour with a long dry, cherry, tart and cherry pits. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
Perfectly made kriek, the sour cherries are awesome, the body is awesome, the sour is medium-high perfect. Cascade portland.

Tap at Au Trappiste. Pours darkest, almost black red with a white foam. Aroma is cherry, stones, funk, but the cherry aromas really open up after a while. Body is medium, cherries, but not as fruity as Belgian lambics often are. Clean sourness with a different kind of funk. Discreet but lively carbonation. Dryish palate. Good, not as intense as a typical Kriek would be. Rather straightforward and simple. Itzjerm (3074) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 17, 2017
Typical sour cherry kriek. Tart slap then a bit of fruit. Not very complex.

Cloudy red cherry color. Mild aroma of cherry pits, some cherry juice, some sourness. Smooth mouthfeel, lean body; good malt base for a Sour, moderate cherry flavor, not juicy, no pit tannins; medium sour level; the finish is lemony and a bit astringent. Possibly, some acetic acid in the end.
Nice and clean, but with no depth.

Draught. Pours dark, dark red with a small pinkish-beige head. Aroma is cherries, vinegar, light oak, and light vanilla. Taste is sour cherries, some vinegar, oak, and a little spice. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. Too much vinegar and it could definitely use more spice (or even oakiness) for balance. I definitely wouldn’t want a whole bottle of this, but in a 6oz pour it is good. Alusmamuts (2098) - LATVIA - JUL 11, 2017
