UPDATED: MAR 17, 2008 Cool label on this 12 oz bottle that poured a nice dark brown with off-white head. Nose of dark malts and nuts. Rich mouthfeel, and flavors of caramel and roast nuts. Nice brown and easy drinking.

Draft at the Brewpub: Poured a medium chestnut brown color with a smaller beige head. Light lacing. Nose is roasty and malty with light hops and hints of cocoa. Tastes of caramel, toasted malt, chocolate, and toffee. Light bitters. Pretty good brown ale.

Tap at Cascade Lakes Lodge pours out brownish amber topped with a off white head. A nice malt on this one. Almost porter like.

From a 12oz. bottle--Poured a thin brown burnished body. Some sharp malts, but surprisingly more hoppy and floral than I expected. Very enjoyable beer!

Brown body, slightly darker than a Newcastle. Aroma is very nutty with notes of caramel, earth and some roast. Medium bodied. A decent brown ale.

chinchill (5311) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 9, 2016
On tap at the brewpub. Look: deep dark amber body with a very good, off-white head; excellent lacing. Pleasing aroma features sweet malts and spicy hops in about equal measure. Flavor: follows the nose. Medium body and carbonation.

beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - AUG 1, 2003
Medium brown color. Small head. Aroma is nutty and fruity. A medium bodied brown ale. Malts are nutty and caramel, with a slight hint of chocolate. Hops are spicy and a touch floral. A touch harsh and a little too crisp for a brown ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

IndianaRed (5022) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 31, 2005
On Tap at Cascade Lakes Lodge Clear light brown rather pale for the style I thought. Very light tan head that had good lasting power and verg nice clingy lacing. Rather bland light roastd flavors with something that seemed a little off. A bit acidic or sour. Easy on the hops per the style and a nice rather heavy feel.

Bottle from Smoker Friendly. Deep ruby in color. Lightly sweet chocolate nose. Rich and roasty up front with a little sweetness. Good roasty flavor. Light and easy drinking.

medium brown. Light tootsie roll on the nose and palate. Simple, but enjoyable.
