3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very strong, robust American Pale Ale (APA, or is it AIPA?). Worth a try, but not too many.
This bottled brew from a beer bar poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated slightly hazy light orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The ok flavor contained notes of caramel and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again. chinchill (5226) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 9, 2016
On tap at the brewpub.
Look: deep amber body with a very good, off-white head; excellent lacing.
Mild aroma features hops that provide some tropical fruit notes.
Flavor: follows the nose.Moderate+ bitterness. Moderately strong and bitter for style.
Medium body and lively carbonation. teamsale (294) - Washington, USA - MAY 16, 2016
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Smells heavy citrus. Tastes strongly of lemon, quite sweet as well which covers up a lot of the bitterness. Reminds me of a hefe served with a big fat lemon, only sweeter. A bit of an odd brew. andrewje41 (4157) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2016
12 oz bottle poured. Once upon a time I was down in the Bend/Redmond area, and found this on draft, and it was my very first experience with Cascade Lakes. Main thing I take from that, is that the beer was solid enough for me to remember what beer it was. Picked this bottle up somewhere in Seattle recently. I was looking forward to this. The label looks to be slapped on by hand about 30 degrees off of being centered. The artwork looks like something I used to draw up in math class back in high school. Only I can’t draw. I’m about as good at drawing as I am at rating beers. You can tell what I’m trying to do, but just barely. The beer pours a bright orange color with a rocky foam head. Soft hop, spice malt, and metallic aroma. Flavor is barely floral, bready malt that is a good balance with the hops. Not quite sold on the hop profile, but the balance is good, and it drinks easy. A little different than your typical IPA. Not bad. deyholla (12031) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Sampled from nitro at Bier Stein. Pours a clear gold with a thick white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces beautifully. Aroma combines flora and citrus with a light grain backing. Flavor has grass and bitter citrus note with a bit if bread and light grains supporting.

smells of mashed up paper and lumber. tastes much better. nice bite but doesn’t overwhelm the more pleasant lightness of being of the malts. lightbias (453) - USA - JUL 5, 2015
Opened the bottle and poured a dark straw liquid with an off-white head about a finger deep. The aroma is bright grapefruit and skunky pine and pulling on the brew brings a flavor equal to the brew. The palate is bitter, flat and boring, the carbonation doing nothing to accentuate any of the aroma, and it seems to be dragging the flavor through, almost kicking and screaming.
Not a fan, but it’s drinkable really, but only if I didn’t have another choice. jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 26, 2015
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of bitter hops, lots of caramel and pale malts, and dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not good. DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - MAR 20, 2015
Tap, orange pour, white head, nose is grapefruit, taste is grapefruit, oranges, bitter MikeAH (4) - Washington, USA - FEB 8, 2015 does not count
One of the few IPAs that I have tried that I really did not like. There was an odd finish to the beer that I could not nail down. I would not buy this again.
