Very dark and on the sweet side of the christmas ale spectrum. Nice complex spices that don't overpower the beer. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - MAR 21, 2006
A really outstanding amber color with a small but creamy off white head. Great appearance, literally a solid sheet of lacing. Rich and creamy sweet maltiness, with a candyish brown sugar kick in the finish. Lovely toffee and just a bit of herbal hop spiciness A tasty beverage indeed. Copper ruby color, fairly dark with little head. Nose of fruity hops & sweet rich malts. Light plums & molasses. The flavor is rich, very full bodied, sweet & bitter, nice strong blend with an accompanying body that rocks. Finishes tangy, creamy, good.
12oz bottle. Nice copper color. Fruity cascade hop nose. Pleasant malty backbone with a balanced hop taste. Not overwhelming bitter. One of the better 2007 winter ales thus far. gunhaver (1030) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 28, 2009

Reddish amber color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and sweet with a hint of dark fruits. A medium bodied winter ale. Malts are nutty, sweet and fruity, touches of chocolate and toffee. Hops are spicy and a touch bitter. Malty and smooth this one is a nice belly warmer. Hides the 8.0% alcohol well. Nice smooth beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - NOV 7, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deeper brown color, very clear, nice ruby hue when lit. Aroma is light chocolate, light piney scent. Medium bodied, borders on a bit thin at times. Decent balance of malt and hop up front with a lingering hop bitterness that is pleasantly noticeable. Decent beer.Reid (2699) - Salem, Oregon, USA - NOV 8, 2005
Jan. ’08 bottle. Deep brown colored and quite clear. Small off-white head. Aroma is caramel and pine resin. Medium bodied. Light carbonation. Darker roasted malt profile with a huge West Coast hop influence in flavor and aroma. Lingering bitterness. Not bad.
One of the North Wset winter offerings I never had.
12 oz brown shortneck bottle.
Its a nice , rather attractive, clear brown ale with a great frthy/bubbly tan head, great lacing.
The aroma is not to strong but it is easy to discern the malts, actually very malty aroma with just a hint of grassy hops.
The taste though is much more hoppy then the aroma , but is well bvalanced by some yummy caramel maltiness, this becomes rarther fruity as the beer warms..
I found the mouthfeel to be well balanced and smooth.
Very drinkable winter ale..a good strongish Amber. Well done JoeMcPhee (10188) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2005
12 oz bottle. Deep amber colour with a thick off-white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma, some brown sugar, a lot of toasty malts melded with a combination of piny and grapefruity hops. In the mouth, this beer has a sweet toasty caramel malt backbone and has a nice Cascade hop flavour. Pine/grapefruit with a well-balanced bitter finish. A bit sticky in the mouth. Hops become noticibly spicy as it warms. Tasty brew.
