COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Manhattan NW, a NW style sour ale that was, until recently, a secret. It’s a blend of Blond Quad aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels on 150 pounds of sour pie cherries for five months before additionally aging on apricot noyaux for three months. Aromas of cherries, Bourbon, sweet candy and hints of spice are noticed up front. Tart cherry skins and Maraschino cherries on the palate lead to a dance of rich cherry notes that are followed by slight Bourbon sweetness. Much like the process to make fission, the steps involved here are greater than the sum of their parts. What isn’t a secret? At 11.32% ABV, you’re going to need a designated driver

Nice beer tastes like sour juice and is very smooth for being imperial. Oak aroma.

Borefts VIII. Day 1. Keg. Lightly hazy apricot colour beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry with decent carbonation. Light bitterish malts. Acidic generic fruits, Light dry finish. A bit too acid for me but some nice bits.

Sample at Borefts 2016. Poured a clear pink colour. The aroma is red berry citrus doughy yeast biscuit. The flavour is moderate sour with a dry crisp light refreshing fruity yeast palate. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation.

Amazing, but oh so sour. Might be the beer with the most sour punch I have ever had. Sour notes hit the whole tongue at once and don’t let up as you drink more. My only complaint is that I wanted more cherry or fruit flavors.

Thanks Dave for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing moderately filtered shades of cherry and apricot with white foam lacing. The nose shows big and tart notes of cherries. The palate is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Highly tart with flavors of very tart cherries and very light bourbon in the background. Mostly cherry forward, a pretty good sour.

Bottle shared by Dave. Thanks man. Pink body with a thin collar. Aromas of oak, funk, cherry, vanilla, light spice. Funky, sour, piquant. Nearly 10% abv is masked beautifully, Terrific. My only gripe with Cascade is the retail price.
