Sampled on tap at Cascade Brewpub, pours a cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of dry scotch malt, light smoked peat and some dry molasses. Flavour of peat / smoked malt, scotch malt, finishing smoked and peaty. Well-made and full-bodied. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Draft, Clear amber thin beige head. Aroma of bready and roast malts, caramel, nut. Taste is much the same, very smooth, mellow for a 7.5% beer. Very well made. BK7 (773) - Turner, Oregon, USA - JAN 18, 2012
On tap at the Raccoon Lodge. Caramel malt with mild hop bitterness. A hint of chocolate and smoke in the background. Smooth finish with a light and tasty alcohol burn. Good brew. Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUN 9, 2011
Mason jar from 16Tons. Pours reddish brown with a nice beige head a little bit of lacing. This one is peaty, malty, caramel and light smoke on the nose with smoke being a lot more prominent in the mouth, particularly the finish, and a lot of caramel sweetness as well as the typical peat of Scotch ales. This is a very tasty brew, as I am fond of a little smoke in my beer, which is what really makes this one stand out. Good job bringing this one in, Mike. marcus (10466) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 30, 2011

Nice smoke finish to a rich scotch ale; well done. The alcohol content (reportedly 8.3%) is apparent but not out of place given the style. Gently sweet but not strongly so as is the case with too many PacNW interpretations.
Draught. Note. Cascade calls this a Scotch Ale. Pours dark red brown with medium white head. Ringed lacing. Light peaty aroma. Less than you’d expect. Full mouthed flavour, peat and roast malt. Flavour lingers. Peaty not too sweet finish, like a good Hielan’ single malt. I wonder if this was aged in whisky barrels.
