Pours a light peach, aroma is wood and funk favoring the funk. Taste is barrel up front with a fruity funk, I think raspberries, lite acidic finish.
Backlog from notes on tap at the brewery live from the barrel. Pours out a copper color topped with a small head. Nose is apricot oak barrel notes some almond and some berries. Sampled on tap at Cascade Brewpub, pours a hazy orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet raspberries with some tartness, oak and vanilla. A copper amber ale with a thin creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, smooth cherry pulp, vinous treacle, Brett notes, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth corky sourish mash, with tingly mouthfeel, lactic acid, raspy mouthfeel. On tap at brewpub July 31 2011. BTW, its noyau (singular), noyaux (plural), so it should be nouveau noyau....
