A personal staple growing up and quite popular with the uni crowd. Hoppier and more bitter than the standard issue that was on offer so an acquired taste for other locals. In an age where beer offerings can change like the wind, its a comfortable way point in life’s journey. With all this in mind, it did lose a few percentage points when the ABV dropped a while back. Pours a clear brown glass of beer. An overall nice aroma and a good refreshing beer with nice hops perfect for "the long run". blutt59 (6573) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2014
On tap, golden pour with no foam, dry fruit aroma with flavors of malty metallic, bread, finish is short DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - JUL 28, 2014
Tap at brewery, gold pour, white head, nose is hoppy, taste is bitter, grassy, okay. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 20, 2013
Bottle date: Cascade don’t care. 2011
The label calls this "Portland Ale",but everything else matches, so I’m rating here.
A: Pours a brass ale with a single finger of bone white foam which dissipates quickly to a sheet of the same. Excellent clarity and no lacing to speak of.
S: Grass, grain, sweet malts. Nice sweet alfalfa tones. usually anticipate a bit more hop on an APA, maybe a bit of fruit or pine.
T: Alfalfa leads out over light pale malts and plumb into my palate and I struggle to be reminded this is (as the label says) an American Pale Ale; just not much hop going on here.
M: Light bodied with higher carb than typical. Thin slick on my palate.
O: I’m confused about this beer. I would be grading this way up on the scale, if this beer were called a Blonde Ale. I can’t see how this is a APA - at 26 IBU’s, this SRM and the flavor/nose profile. Not a bad beer by any means, but definitely not up to the style standard.

Mostly clear gold colored pour with a white head. Crisp and hoppy with just enough pale malts to balance. Very floral and grassy hops in this. Nice. kumite56 (473) - Cordova, Tennessee, USA - APR 26, 2012
I was not impressed by this pale ale. The beer poors slightly hazy coperycolor with a rapidly diminishing off white head. Aroma was somewhat floral but again not impressive. Taste was lightly bitter and had verly little malt backbone which made it light bodied for me. Better than bud though. :) after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Draft at the Stumbling Monk. Pours a cloudy bronzed medium golden amber with a dense and creamy white head that really sticks around. Mild tangy caramel and herbal nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast, caramel, and herbs on the mid palate. Not really working together quite as well as I might like. BuckeyeBoy (8203) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 11, 2011
On tap at Raccoon Lodge. Pours out golden topped with a white head. Aroma was of fresh crisp hops, lots of citrus and floral notes. Taste was more of the citrus, floral, some light bread malts, and a little sweet caramel.

Tap at the Barrel House. Light gold pour with a thin white head. Floral, noble hop aroma. Nice light crisp malt body with just enough floral and a touch spicy hops to balance it out. Good session brew.
