This NW style sour old ale is no trick, its all treat. We smashed and triple roasted 50 lbs of pumpkin down to 6 lbs, then aged the beer for 11 months on the roasted pumpkin in rum barrels. The aromas of spiced rum, mingled with the soft notes of roasted pumpkin, are notice up front. Spice, roasted pumpkin and rum is followed by a soft warming from within. Be warned, you might get pumpkin smashed!

Bottle at Toronado SD. Clear amber small creamy off-white, good retention. Lots of sweet rum and brown sugar, some nutmeg and lotsa vanilla and melted butter, not diacetyl. Flavor adds a fair amount of booze, not near the 13.9 abv the barrel guy (Preston) claims. Sourness peaked at a 3ish, alcohol masked pretty well. Low carbonation , full body. Better than Pumking. I said it. Best pumpkin beer Ive had. 9-4-9-4-18--4.4

Blend sour blonda i quada leżakowanych w beczkach po burbonie i brandy (do 22 msc) z dodatkiem pieczonej dyni i przypraw (gałka muszkatołowa, cynamon, wanilia, goździki, ziele angielskie). W aromacie najpierw kwaśno, funky, dynia i przyprawy, pod koniec po ogrzaniu zaczyna wychodzić beczka. W smaku kwaśno i to bardzo, ale jest i ta podpieczona dynia i jest to chyba jedno z najbardziej intensywnie dyniowych piw jakie kiedykolwiek piłam. To wrażenie potęgują przyprawy, bo ten przyprawowy zestaw dodawany do pumpkin pie jest tu mocno wyczuwalny. To piwo ma w sumie najlepsze rzeczy z dyniowego ciasta: aromat i smak pieczonej dyni i przede wszystkim przypraw, bez tej przegiętej słodyczy. Szczeglnie fajny jest taki przyjemnie ostry gałko-muszkatałowo-cynamonowy finish, ktry elegancko rozgrzewa (do spłki z niewyczuwalnym alkoholem). Jest to piwo super gładkie i nieprawdopodobnie lekkie jak na swoje imponujące 10,2 %

Tap at Pita Kabob in Visalia. Love the Cascade bees generally but this one falters slightly. The alcohol is well hidden. Restrained pumpkin with moderate spice.

Draft at Cascade Barrel House. Clear orange copper color with a small white head. Aroma is great, loads of pumpkin, spice, some tangerine notes, nice funk. Flavor is nicely tart with good pumpkin and cinnamon nutmeg, touch of citrus tartness. Medium bodied, crisp, acidic. Really enjoyable.

Sampled at Maxs Rare and Obscure 2016 pours a clear, dark amber with no head. Nose has tons of acid and some mild spice, apples. Flavor has loads of acid, some root veg and spice. Just too tart.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2016 Wow. This might possibly be the one of the best pumpkin beers I?ve had. Almost as good as Allagash Ghoulship. But three times as expensive of course. Light smipce and some pumpkin and a huge dose of sour plum, tangerine and apricot. Mostly like a Flanders Red with pumpkin stuff, but the weird experiment really works. Too bad it?s too expensive to buy in bottle. Maroon pour with good lacing and decent head. Tangy and tart finish. And the barrel aging even works with rum infusion. Tap at Whole Foods.

Shared 750 ml. 2014 bottle poured to a snifter showing a fairly clear, walnut color, with some off white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was tartness, subtle funk, spice, dried fruitiness & skins, with some toastiness & pumpkin hidden in the mix. Medium bodied, with fair carbonation, tart to sour character, tangy, a bit of tannic astringency, yet warming, with a dry finish. Nice.

On tap at Bier:30 hazy copper with a thin white head. Big sweet deep sour flavors. Easy on the pumpkin but malty and smooth. Good sourness. Very good

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out amber topped with a small head. Nose is nice tartness with the pumpkin pie and spice. Taste is more of the nice tart pucker and sweet pumpkin pie.

On tap at Beercraft. It pours an amber color with no head. The aroma is acidic and a bit vinous with some grapes, molasses, mild cinnamon and syrup. The flavor is tart with more vinous red grapes, hints of molasses and rum. Cinnamon. Full bodied with strong acidity, but its tempered by a lot of sweeter flavors as well. Surprisingly not harsh on the palate and pretty easy to drink for what it is. I like most of Cascades bigger, sweeter sours due to the balance of extremes.

750ml bottle, bought from Beer Run. Poured a cloudy amber red color, small off-white head. Aroma was sharp sour notes, light fruit. Tart, sour, sweet notes. Not really getting a lot of pumpkin at all in this - maybe I am just missing it? Very easy to drink though, almost pounded half the bottle without a problem. Very good.
