This NW style sour ale was made with various red ales that were aged in oak with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, then blended with red ales that were aged in Port and Pinot Noir barrels.

Tap @ Oedipus, small sample (last of the keg). Deep red-brown color. Big, firm beige head. Aromas are sour, fruity, woody. Flavor is sour, balsamic, woody. Warming alcohol feel. Medium bodied.

Cask days 2016. Dark fruit, dark, vinous notes. Loads of red wine and some balsamic vinegar. Overripe plums, and fresh crushed grapes. Sweet, and acidic, with hints of vanilla and wood. Earthy fruit, slightly musty red wine.... Complex and interesting.

On tap at Oedipus taproom, Amsterdam and served in a long stemmed tulip glass. on 5-Nov-2016. 2013 version. Reddish brown colour with a big off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, malt and spices. Medium body and carbonation. Big sour, tart flavour. dark fruit, cherry and light spices. Great body and good lacing. Excellent - I had to have another.

2016-10-21. Dark ruby tinged brown body small beige head. 3+ Aroma of tangy dark fruit, cherries, light malt. 7++ Flavour has tangy sour fruit, cherry, some fruit pit like astringency briefly grabs at the throat in the finish. Smooth average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. 3+ Very nice. 7-8/3-4/7-8/16+ Cask Days 2016, Toronto.

Cask Days 2016. 2013 vintage. Murky reddish brown, wisp of beige head. Deep and complex aroma of dark red fruit, wine barrel, balsamic, suggestion of smoke (maybe imagining?). Flavour is nice and sharp, tart, vinous. Lingering sour grapes. Very nice.

Red brown colour, cream head. Aroma of red wine, grapes, malts, sour note, vinegar, light brett. Sour flavour, sweat, grape notes. Very sour finish, acetic acid, fruits.

Bottle at Aarhus tasting. Pours cloudy red/brown with a minimal white head. Aroma of sour berries, fruits. Light sweetness, heavy sourness. Finish is dry and sour.
