COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW-style sour ale is no wallflower. It started as a strong spiced quad that was barrel aged for 21 months, then aged for another 6 months on blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak and leather. Rich, earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate yield to a rich, velvety finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins. This is a single barrel project.

Draft at the Barrel House. Purple hue, with pinkish foamy head. Nice jelly jar aroma, sweet and fresh. Taste goes a bit deeper into the berries, still sweet and very juicy. Again the tartness puckers, and then dries out your gums. Nice sweet jelly flavors linger, along with the dryness. These guys know their way around a sour, for sure.

Borefts VIII. Day 2. Keg. Light haze on this deep red beer, tidy pink head. Palate is light and fairly dry with a good fine crispness. Mildly tart blueberry with lesser blackberry and cherry. Light vanilla oak keeps things very approachable. Light finish. Hides the abv incredibly well. My kind of sour.

Clear deep red to almost burgundy coloured beer, small creamy light pink head. Aroma: very dirty, funky, really infected, urine, fruity touch, but mainly very very unpleasant. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sour start, lots and lots of mouth puckering dry tannins, slightly fruity, vinegar acidity. Aftertaste: tannins, bit fruity, meh.
