4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Naven brought a bottle of this by for the unofficial Death Metal Beer Tasting that we had at my pad last week. I cannot come up with enough clever notes that haven’t been said already, but know that this is a great sour ale and definitely worth seeking out. Oh, hell, who am I kidding... I was already pretty well on my way when we cracked this open. All I remember is that it lives up to the score it has. Sour like all, get out.
Draft at Armsby Abbey. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Big wood and fruit notes on the nose. Very easy drinker. Hides it’s booze well. Tart on the tongue but it also seems to have a fruit like flavor. Nice! Stoned99 (1553) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 1, 2017
750ml bottle. 2009 vintage. Ooos kinda forgot it. Aroma: woody, cherry, lambic-ish. App: clear salmon / orange / reddish. No head. Taste and palate: light body, vinous but really feels like a fine digestive, no carbonation at all, moderate dry acidity finish. Overall: well. Never had it before but I guess I could say it aged well considering this is 8 years old. One thing though. It took me between 5 and 10 minutes to open it. Was getting angry. Anyway, an interesting test. Not interesting enough to drink a whole bottle of this all by myself. It really feels too denatured and the lack of carbonation makes it a bit hard to drink. Still glad I finally got to taste it and wont be too severe with my rating. Cybercat (5838) - Georgia, USA - MAY 20, 2017
Pours dark honey with minimal beige head. Aroma presents sharply tart pomme pine and stone fruit notes, while fresh malt and a pinch of hops provide support. Flavor delivers sweet and tart fruit, fresh malt, a hint of honey and a touch of hops. Firm mouthfeel has good fizz. Get imp-aled. Oakes (17684) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
Dark amber. No head. Aroma mixes bourbon with tart, wood...a complex and interesting mess. The sweet bourbon in the finish, with the tartness, the wood, and the raisiny, date notes...pretty nice. jinroh (1597) - ESTONIA - APR 9, 2017
Pours nice straw yellow. Nice autumny sour aroma, vanilla and some oak. This beer is surprising me with its balance, fruity, some pear. Sourness nicely balanced - and again, no way this beer has abv in double digits!

Flat, almost no carbonation, very big sourness, with oak, cherries, vanilla, a bit of bourbon in the nose. Low carbonation, very sour, tons of bourbon, oak, great depth and balance. Sourness fruit oak and light bourbon finish. Awesome. Fairly warming fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 4, 2017

Clean light amber color. Some wine and glue aroma. Strong body, with residual sugars; woody, with good malt body, some vinegar, candies, light berry juice, and final astringency.
Good, but I find it a bit confused.
Geproefd tijdens Borefts 2016. Iznogud (3805) - CROATIA - DEC 31, 2016
On tap at Borefts Beer Festival, 2016. Pours hazy dark golden to orange, off white head. Fruity, berries, bit lactic, vinegarish, vinous, oak, wood. Sour. Medium bodied. ElManana (2079) - Scheldewindeke, BELGIUM - DEC 17, 2016
