Wood aged Pale Quadruppel. Imagine a blend of Scaldis and Cantillon Pure Kriek. Forget it, there is nothing like it (yet). Vlad is shocking to your sour beer senses and taste buds, which do not understand that such a balanced delicate sour beer can be so drinkable and appeal to so many people while being extreme. But don’t forget, it will still open a can of 10.6% whoop-ass on your ass after all the pomp & circumstance of what an amazing beer it is subsides.

Draft @ Beer Temple. 2013 issue. Rather clear amber color. Off white head. Aroma's: sour, wood. Retronasal it's sourish, sweetish, vanilla, wood. Flavor is sweet-moderate sour. Medium bodied, and it doesn't really feel like 10+ ABV. Finishes sweet, sourish, woody and something typical. Interesting.

Draft at Armsby Abbey. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Big wood and fruit notes on the nose. Very easy drinker. Hides it’s booze well. Tart on the tongue but it also seems to have a fruit like flavor. Nice!

750ml bottle. 2009 vintage. Ooos kinda forgot it. Aroma: woody, cherry, lambic-ish. App: clear salmon / orange / reddish. No head. Taste and palate: light body, vinous but really feels like a fine digestive, no carbonation at all, moderate dry acidity finish. Overall: well. Never had it before but I guess I could say it aged well considering this is 8 years old. One thing though. It took me between 5 and 10 minutes to open it. Was getting angry. Anyway, an interesting test. Not interesting enough to drink a whole bottle of this all by myself. It really feels too denatured and the lack of carbonation makes it a bit hard to drink. Still glad I finally got to taste it and wont be too severe with my rating.

Cybercat (6011) - Georgia, USA - MAY 20, 2017
Pours dark honey with minimal beige head. Aroma presents sharply tart pomme pine and stone fruit notes, while fresh malt and a pinch of hops provide support. Flavor delivers sweet and tart fruit, fresh malt, a hint of honey and a touch of hops. Firm mouthfeel has good fizz. Get imp-aled.

Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
Dark amber. No head. Aroma mixes bourbon with tart, wood...a complex and interesting mess. The sweet bourbon in the finish, with the tartness, the wood, and the raisiny, date notes...pretty nice.

jinroh (2122) - ESTONIA - APR 9, 2017
Pours nice straw yellow. Nice autumny sour aroma, vanilla and some oak. This beer is surprising me with its balance, fruity, some pear. Sourness nicely balanced - and again, no way this beer has abv in double digits!
