T3. Liked this one! Hazy orange color, with a strong, sticky head and lace. Nose is caramel, yeast, and sugar. Taste is citrus, yeast, and a full bodied tartness. Sharp and fruity, with grapes hidden in the back. Yummy. padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - APR 5, 2009
Served from a bottle at toncatchers T3 tasting! Thanks to stefanje, lagunitasfan, weeheavysd, fordest, wetherel, alohac and of course toncatcher for suppling the house and grub. Rating # 5 cool! Thanks for the bring WeeheavySD. Malty yeast and a little sweetness. Very nice barley wine. StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - APR 5, 2009
Hand-bottle at Toncatchers T3. Provided by Wee Heavy. Pours a cloudy light brown color with a medium off-white head. The aroma was dry wood and citrus with a bit of spice. The taste had a slightly sharp quality with spices that I could not identify and a good dry malt backbone. The palate seemed just a bit thin to me. Overall: Not my favorite of the evening, but not a bad brew at all. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 4, 2009
Hell yeah, rating 3, I’m so pretty much hell yeah because of ben suzygreenburg, I am in debt as he would say, Ben is my buddy plain and simple, I’ll do what I can for him he’ll do what he can for me. Screw top 750ml growler, yeah ben, yeah. Pours orange with a bright white ring. Nose is sweet with caramel. Great to have this, because I say Ron is a genious as such this doesn’t dissapoint. Taste is sweet light and rich yumm with some lemon candy at the end if that sounds bad screw it, you have no palate because this barleywine has some citrus at the end, so there, good work, Ron. draft @ Raccoon Lodge - hazy light brown with thick off-white head; killer nose of sweet bready malts, lemons, sugar, wood, hint of booze; medium body is quite thick and refreshing going down; alcohol is well hidden in the flavors; yeasty, sugars and malty rich; not you average BW that’s for sure; maybe some belgian influence in the recipe somewhere? thanks Ron!!!
