2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Good brown ale. Medium brown, tan head. Good malt flavor, not much hops flavor or bitterness.
Poured into a mug, the appearance was obviously a brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sliding lace.
The aroma has some nutty malts lightly dosed by some caramel and toffee notes.
The flavor is sweet through the previously mentioned aromas. Light sweet nutty malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low to medium carbonation. Gripping nuttiness on my tongue.
Overall, decent English styled brown ale that I could have again. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 3, 2013

12oz bottle. Pours a deep reddish/brown color with about an inch of fluffy white head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Taste of roasted and caramel malts, a slight nuttiness, and some earthy hop bitterness. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Thanks to someone for sharing this at bu11zeye’s 10,000th tasting in April 2012. Brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of toffee and cocoa. The flavor is fairly dry with some toffee, caramel, pepper and grass notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Imaena (2359) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - JUN 2, 2013

Flat aroma even for a brown. Dark appearance, burnt caramel color. Taste is nutty with an acidic yet malty finish. Palate is flat with some woodsiness. Overall, an average brown without any remarkable character. Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - SEP 24, 2012
Pours brown with a cream colored head. Aroma is malty, chocolatey, some coffe; desert-like. Flavor is pretty dry; tastes like a cheap porter. Hazelnut, bitter cocoa, yeast; some skunk. Not my favorite. mar (5457) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2012
deep brown with a cream head. nose is caramel, malts, dough, and sweet. nice on the palate, not much going on here. Dogbrick (14328) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 18, 2012
Deep reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt grain and fruit. Light-bodied with a slight roasted character and notes of stale malt, overripe fruit and a touch of hops. The finish is short and malty. Below average overall.
