WEST SLOPE CONNECTION VOLUME 3 IS OAK THEORY AGED IN FRESHLY DUMPED RUM BARRELS PROCURED BY OUR FRIENDS AT MR. B'S IN DENVER. AFTER FERMENTING AND AGING FOR 3 MONTHS IN THE RUM BARRELS, WE TRANSFERRED THE BEER TO A NEUTRAL BARREL TO FINISH AGING.
750ml bottle pours out golden topped with a fizzy white head. Nose is great big stone fruit notes some sour barrel notes and a little vanilla. Taste is more of the nice sour tart notes stone fruit peach apricot and the barrel.
Light golden orange color from the bottle.
Intriguing aroma and flavor right off the bat. Some lambic type qualities with some stonefruit sweetness nose and flavor though there's no stonefruit in this beer. The rum underlying the oak is really unique and subtle and keeps this beer crazy complex as it opens. Refreshing at 5% yet sontemplative. Loved it. High 4.3 - low 4.4.
750 ml bottle from Mr. B's Wine & Spirits. Clear, pale orange colored appearance with a dissipating white head. The aroma is tart, zesty, fruity and funky with hints of earth and rum spice. Similar flavor, mildly tart and sour with some acidity and light oaky notes. Light to medium body with a mild puckering feel and a bit of sweetness at the finish. Pretty nice overall.
