Aroma: Caramel and alcoholic notes. Appearance: Amber color with clear liquid and white head. Taste: Heavy bitterness and light sour notes. Palate: Medium body with oily texture and soft/average carbonation. Long bitter alcoholic finish. Overall: Not too strong. Bitter alcoholic features. Goes with cheese or with strong meals.

DraftDodger (1951) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2018
Copenhagen 24/3 2018. 37,5 cl bottle brought as a gift from my Brother-in-law. As "Casimiro Mahou Cerveza Extra". Print on the glass. Red label with official looking buildings on the label. Pours clear amber with dense white head. Settles as thin layer of foam with lacing along the side of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is not particularly strong. Some caramel and light roastiness accompanied by boozy alcohol. Sharp sour notes. Light carbonation and slightly thick texture. Flavor is rather sweet - might be the wheat peeking in - followed by decent but lighter bitterness. Well balanced but on the sweet side.

Pinball (12742) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 18, 2017
bottle from el corte ingles. same red label but the text on this bottle is CERVEZA EXTRA the color is reddish as the picture, and the abv is also 7% so i assume the CERVEZA EXTRA is an alias to casimiro maravillas. If they changed the name to extra, the ratebeer beer name sb changed too. gtin on extra was 841132700970 clear yellow, smooth white head. aroma is rather closed in on itself, aroma is that of a clean lager, some hints of caramel and sweetness suggests a strong clean lager. flavor is sweet malty, caramel, flowery hoppy balance, there's a lot of stuff in this one, the 7% is not hidden, lots of flavor. however, the flavor resembles other macro strong european lagers, it's quite sweet and caramelly, and you get this feeling that 4 pints of this stuff will knock you over for the day.

Bottle 37,5 cl @Barcelona, a clear copper beer, nose is on barley sugar and grain. Aroma is like a malt liquor, light caramel and toasted caramel touch, correct body, pleasant even is not complex.

Normal.

33 cl bottle (labeled as "Cerveza Extra" and not "Maravillas") at Club Gourmet Castellana, pairing it with two formidable king-sized oysters that were far better than the beer; should have ordered some nice porter, obviously. Anyway, let’s get to the tasting: pours clean transparent amber, thick and long-lasting beige head. Aroma is quite low: just a hint of iron, cookies and oat grits. Taste is slightly sweet at first, then developing into conspicuous bitterness. Powerful but not long-lasting finish. So-so, rather dull but has good structure in the mouth. Won’t have another one, though.
