Very nice coppery color,Medium sized head that had a decent lasting power, but not real long lasting. The aroma was light at first until i took Squidget's advice and let it warm up a bit more then it really began to flower. It bagn to get real fruity in aroma, with hints of apple and yeast and something else that was hard to describe but very pleasant. The flavor was is almost cider like mainly in the decent presence of the apple taste, and definately fairly sweet. Most definately a very drinkable brew and easy on the pallate.Well worth the big bucks it took to get it here, and even better i have a couple more for trades and ageing for further trials. Oh, man, is this one magnificent brew! Perhaps I'm slightly biased in that I thought I wouldn't like it...thinking to myself, oh, gosh, just another "wanna be" Belgian...WRONG. This is a Belgian style with Czech hops. What a beautiful concoction. Beautiful in color, nice head, good lace, incredible aroma, delicious, simply delicious. A *strong* brew...but the alcohol is deceptively well hidden. It is complex, too...as it warms, incredible notes arise. All that others have said, the copper, the orange, the yeast, the pineapple. All topped off with a wonderful mouthfeel and an incredible finish. This is one of the finest beers I've ever sampled. All I can say is "Cerveza mas Fina" ;) Andrew196 (1921) - Katy, Texas, USA - JUN 15, 2003
Ive said this about a couple other beers in the past, but this IS the best beer made in Mexico. Aroma was very powerful, crisp apples. Copper in color with a thick, coarse head. Very impressive in flavor, well balanced with chocolate, yeast, with hops in the finish....great! Nekronos (4174) - Xalapa, MEXICO - OCT 16, 2004
Great beer, I think they didn’t lie in what they wrote in the box. Has a fruity flavor and combined with the corch’s aroma makes it be one of my favourites. Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 4, 2003
I have been looking forward to the sampling of this beer from the “Great” brewers at Casta, since it arrived a week or so ago. Wanted to review it when I was in a really positive mood, as I feel that is important when ask personally to sample and review a beer by the master brewer, and the development team at Casta.

The beer pours a translucent deep amber color, the head is planetary in size, a beautious light tan in color, creamy in texture, and the lace a diaphanous sheet to conceal the glass. The nose is sweet, yeast quite evident, fresh and clean, a bit plummish and to me the apotheosis of what a great beer nose should be, start sweet and malt laden, the top is middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is vinous, delightfully acidic, the hops delectable in their understated presence and spiciness, dry as they get aftertaste that lingers longingly upon the palate, also a nice bit of “Belly Warming”, to cap off this most delightful beer. A beer that lovers of the Oud Bruin and Belgian Strongs will like I'm sure.
My thanks to all the fine people at Casta for giving me this chance to sample another of their great beers, I’ve tried them all, so what are you going to make next? Also I look forward to its being available in Arizona in the near future, as it will surely find a home in my “Cellar”!
!SALUD! Bottle. Pale-orange, giant head. Explosive freshess: peachy aroma laced with hoppiness that goes delightfully into the flavor. Nice. Uglyradio (791) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - SEP 16, 2003
Cloudy amber color with a big, lingering, off-white head. It has a fruity and quite spicy aroma, definitely hinting towards Belgian influences. Medium body with crisp carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth with a crisp finish. The flavor is malty and very fruity with hints of pear and peach, and a distinct yeastiness. The finish is long and malty sweet with some big fruity notes. By far the greatest beer to come out of Mexico. This one has big, Belgian influences. Nice artwork on the bottle as well. Excellent!

This is really good. Beautiful red-copper color with nice white head. I can taste both Mexican and Belgian qualities in it. Good creamy mouthful with typical Belgian fruity and yeasty flavors. This stuff is really smooth and I can't taste much alcahol. Aroma is good, but there's not much of it. Aroma is kind of cinnimony spicy with candi sugar. Tasted in my Kasteel glass. This is the real deal! Don't kill me, but I think this is better than a lot of Belgian beers I've tried lately ghawener (1607) - Santa Tecla, EL SALVADOR - JUL 11, 2004
Bottle: Brownish red with a heavy beige head; cloudy. Sweet, fruity aroma that is also very noticable in it´s taste. Good balance with the high alcohol level. Too bad it is so hard to get. pablo (2) - Distrito Federal, MEXICO - JAN 12, 2005 does not count
