Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 24, 2005
Poirs yellow with a huge, fizzy, white head. Smells od hay, straw, and lemon with ins of grape, apple, pear and maple syrup.

Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 21, 2005
Bottle: Light sweet Euro-lager aroma. Pours a cloudy orangish-yellow with a small white head. Lightly sweet with an even lighter finish. Euro-lager flavor in the background. Not a fan of the style.

Bottle. Golden colored. Fast fading white head leaving no lacing. Bitter spicey aroma with some yeast. Body is a little watery. Nice lively carbonation. Pleasant bitterness pervades with a decent malt backing. Solid BDG.

willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAR 16, 2005
03.16.05 750 ml bottle dated 15/09/04. Tall blonde beer with huge and lacing white head. Aromas of pear, lightly floral, biscuit. Flavors are salty and weedy with soft fruit flavors and pretty malts. Marzapan and lemon rind. A stylish quaffer; soft body and tingly eff.

Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAR 14, 2005
Pouring a hazy straw color with a fizzy white head, this has an earthy, barnyard aroma with hints of lemon-lime and spices. Soft mouthfeel, but dry and acidic as well. It’s got a sweet/tart taste to it, light toffee-like maltiness, citric but musty. Refreshing citric tart finish.

tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 10, 2005
Earthy, musty, peppery, citrus-lemon and a candy-like sweetness in the nose with some hay-like, herbal hop notes. Hazy yellow-gold coloured body is topped by pillowy white head that recedes to generous and lasting cover with some lacing. Musty yet sweet flavour with a light spiciness, a woody character and a hint of barnyard in the dry and tart finish. Sweetness returns in the long-lasting aftertaste. Very malty but very well-attenuated with fair carbonation and medium body. I can’t help but think this must be under-rated as I am loving it! Bottle (Winooski Beverage Warehouse Nov. 2004 - Bottled on 15-Sep-2004).

tulip / 06.01.05 L4006 13:05 (i don’t know what it truly means, but it looked important) / a nice loud pop is heard when i release the cork, then a wisp of fog quickly rises and disappears. i do smell it, though: primarily a spiced aroma; but with hay, a little bit of mustiness. the pour is very nice. a huge white head nears full diminishment, but it takes awhile... leaving sparkly lace, soapy froth, and it’s quite loud, which is another thing about this beer, the body is quite active yet the palate is not obnoxious. it’s just live enough. it’s actually quite cremey. this is a modest beer with just enough sweetness and spice--a little bit of caramel, lemon, with a dimension of barn like in a saison. very enjoyable! and my FIRST biere de garde!

Bottle. A light golden slightly hazed color with a thin white head. A delicate spiced aroma balanced with a bit of candy and malts. An enjoyable flavor that is sweet, spiced and simple.

beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JAN 9, 2005
Light gold color. Large sized white fizzy head. Aroma is malty, spicy and a touch grassy. A medium bodied biere de garde. Malts are fruity and sweet. Touches of barnyard but very mild. Very smooth taste. Light and refreshing. Soft carbonation. Touch of citrus and grass. Very drinkable beer. A touch sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - NOV 26, 2004
Nice golden color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was very lightly malty with a sort of sweet side coming through as well as a barnyard/band-aid thing happening here as well. The flavor was fairly pleasant,Nice mild sweet side with a thin feeling all around,a little astringent at first but that quickly subsides a little barnyard in there as well but nothing to terrible in fact it kind of fits with this brew. There is also a very faint band-aid that pops up but nothing that gets in the way of the experience. The finish is a bit sweet at first with a slight astringent side coming on briefly but over all i’d have to say that it’s a nice brew and would make a decent session beer in the summer time.
