Draft. Hazy golden yellow color, large bubble white head. Aroma of straw and citrus. Taste is mild barnyard, bitter hay. Nice. bhensonb (15088) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 26, 2007
750 ml bottle from Corti Bros., Sacramento. LIght citrus and berries in the aroma, along with lightly roasted, toffee?, malt. Orange tinged golden color with a white head that collapsed. Medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor starts with light caramel, berry and citrus fruits, and light hot spice notes. Ok, it’s also a tad earthy. It’s also clean (but not crisp), and very refreshing. The finish is mildly sweet, and there seems to be enough bitter to balance. It’s very pleasant to drink. Flavors of straw, earthiness and light fruitiness with a smooth dry finish. Tmoney99 (14365) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2006
Bottle. Poured hazy amber with an average fizzy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate spicy sour citrus aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium citrus sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 4, 2003
Clear golden body, big bubbles rising, and a big white head. Aroma is spicy, slightly sweet, and grassy hoppy. Taste is quite sweet, a bit spicy, and finishes with a mild grassy bitterness, along with a bit of astringency. Body is light, fairly carbonated. Not bad, but it’s missing the complexity I’d like in a biere de garde.

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with great lacing. Aroma is lightly toasted malt, notes of honey and biscuit malt, fragrant fruity esters and barely perceptible hops. Flavor is malt dominant, lightly sweet with fruity esters and a very dry finish. Medium body, low warmth, medium-low carbonation. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2005
(750ml bottle) Pours a clear pale yellow with a large white head. Aroma of grass, cereal, and mild spices. Flavor of spicy yeast, buttery, and grass with a slight bitterness. crossovert (12666) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2011
750 ml bottle best by: 25/11/10.
Pours a clearish blond with a tall, foamy white head that leaves some nice lacing.
The smell is ultra fruity with a thick sugary sweetness.
The mouthfeel is nice and decently full-bodied. It has a great clean grain flavor with a hint of fruitiness. It is light, but full-bodied, a great summer brew.
This is one of the better Biere de Gardes.

Bottle. Poured clear gold with an amber hue and an off-white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of sweet grains and biscuit with a slight floral and spice note. Flavor was similarly over sweet with biscuit and grain with a bit of spice and flower coming through. shrubber85 (11324) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 9, 2013
