Sampled @ GDBTF. A pleasant surprise at the Decatur Beer festival, one of the few beers I hadn’t seen or tried before. Forgot to write down notes though, so going off memory. Pours well carbonated a deep yellow gold; saison type farmhouse hops in the nose; balanced by a rich caramel malt body that ended with a peppery yeasty spiciness. Haven’t had a chance to try many biere de gardes, but find them quite enjoyable. sirpsycho (393) - Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2009
Bottle. Pours a very slightly hazy yellow, medium white head, some lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, touch of spice. Flavor is also sweet malt, spice and a touch of fruit, mainly apple and some peach notes. Nice mouthfeel, smooth and enjoyable. jcalbi (380) - Medford, New Jersey, USA - NOV 18, 2002
Hazy golden body with a watery white head. Soft "barnyard" aromas with a bit of of lemon zest. Sweet, grassy, and dank. Finish has a rather dusty feel to it. DeadGuyFrank (347) - http://westchesterbeer.com, USA - AUG 23, 2008
My wife is not much of a beer drinker, but when I poured this into my saison glass she said, "now that is a good looking beer." Perfect white fluffy head that lasts, so much subtle, repeat subtle yeasty, hoppy, carbonated taste in each sip - one of my favorites. muenster (345) - Sevierville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 5, 2007
Hmm, pours yellow/blonde with lots and lots of floaties and a thin white head. Berries and acidity dominate the aroma. The flavor was far to corn syrupy, lots of sweet malt, little acidity and a little fruit. Man, after the Oro De Calabaza, I was expecting something far better than this from a biere de garde.

9/9/05.750ml San Rogue. Hazy gold with large white head. Floral hop aroma light fruity with some spice and malts. FishManLA (337) - Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA - JUL 8, 2008
Bright gold color with a fizzy head with medium retention and nice lacing. Nose of biscuits and fruit. Fresh malt taste with obvious fruit notes and somewhat more subtle toffee notes and suggestions of honey and spice. Tart, tangy, clean, and fresh finish. A perfect beer for watching a sunset on a spring or summer evening. mtoast (336) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 10, 2008
33cL bottle courtesy of yinzer at Pittsburgh gathering on 1/27/2008. Crystal clear golden color, stark white foam, decent retention. Nice earthy aroma, some very nice yeast spiciness. Flavor falls a little flat, somewhat malty with some of the yeastiness coming through but for the most part comes across as a bit watery. Was really looking forward to this, I think my expectations far exceeded reality. dtborelli (322) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 17, 2011
Biere de Garde
Pours medium gold with a thick white head and ok retention. Aroma is bready and doughy with nice floral notes and mild banana esters. Very nice. Flavor is full bodied and crisp with nice floral notes and a heavy sweet breadiness. Mildly hopped to balance the sweetness. Really good.

Tap pour - @ RHP. Pours yellow gold, nice medium white head. Tastes of beautiful cool malts, complex yeasts, and spicy hops. Good long bodied palate and great balance. Very good.
