UPDATED: JUL 13, 2010 750ml bottle at a BJCP study session. Pours a golden color with some haze. Some candy like malty sweetnes in the aroma. A little grainy with some sweetness on the front end of the taste. Finishes dry with a nice spicy hop bitterness. Pretty clean finish for a belgian. Great malt character. Gorgeous appearance with a straw colored body, thick frothy head and flakes of spent yeast riding the bubbles like a snow globe that’s been shaken violently. Nice farmy aroma of yeast, hay and grapes. Medium body despite the effervescence. Hoppy and fresh with loads of winey fruits and some slick honey sugarness. Gets thicker and sweeter once warm, where the body loses some grip but the malts never lose their hold. Well balanced and altogether a solid example of the style. tallmatt67 (99) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 3, 2003
Subtle light caramelly malt aroma with a light citrus ester hint (no hop aroma) and faint mustiness. Beautiful bright golden straw color with funky chunky yeast sediment unless you very carefully decant. Light carbonatation and bright acidity complements light caramel malt flavor and green apple esters with very slight alcohol spicyness. Soft, persistent bitterness rounds out a lingering slighly dry finish. Nice. SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 30, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2004 Little head with a nice light orange cloudy colour. The nose is awesome and totally unsuspected. Bannannaish, maltish, and invigorating nose. Also, this is very smoothe to the mouth. jazz88 (2679) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 25, 2005
Bottle. A light golden slightly hazed color with a thin white head. A delicate spiced aroma balanced with a bit of candy and malts. An enjoyable flavor that is sweet, spiced and simple.

"Pours a nice yellow color with a tiny light head. Smelled sweet and floraly, hint of yeast. Flavor was sweet could taste the spice as an aftertaste. Good beer." beermaniac (86) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 6, 2007
Aroma: Delicately balanced nose wavering between noble hop and clean pils malt
Appearance: Ok head retention, blond body, good clarity. White head.
Flavor: Crisp, clean and dry upfront with some sweet malts in the finish. Low hop. Very clean.
Palate: Very thirst quenching, dry finish with moderate carbonation, giving a little carbonic bite but not over the top.
Overall: Clean, crisp and very delicate and drinkable brew. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2008
Wow I forgot how much I love this style. Aroma was so so. Strong bread and grassy aromas. Pour was a nice dark gold with a one finger white head. Taste was delicious. Strong yeast and bread flavors with a tart vinuous aftertaste in the back of the throat. There is a different berriness in and out. Very nice. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 7, 2008
Pour is -- not surprisingly -- bright deep golden, transparent with bubbly white head and nice lacing. Grassy, slightly spicy, flowery, and a sharp/bitter hop aroma. My first sip was not what I expected, and I admittedly thought of malt liquor. But I do this beer no justice with such a comparison... I am a novice with this style. After a few sips, I was hooked. Same flavors as on the nose, but a little more floral and even a slight bit fruity in its undertones. Improves as it gets closer to room temp. It’s relatively subtle, but I really like this beer. nefarious (220) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAY 30, 2008
vewry good! I guess my expectations were so low for this that I was soooo pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Very golden pour with a huge creamy head. wasnt big on the grassy and sharp aroma but what a great flavor. Grapes and slight fruit and mild hops. Would be wonderful session beer. I will have this again!
