(Bottled) Very dark, clear brown color with a very small head. Mild, soft, malty and somewhat yeasty and alcoholic aroma. Slightly spicy and roasty, quite malty flavor with anise and licorice hints. Hides the ABV well. Medium-bodied, almost watery palate with low carbonation. A decent and very drinkable, but quite light christmas brew. TBone (17581) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 7, 2004

Dark brown, almost no head. Aroma of banana. Mouthfeel is thin. Easy to drink: sweetish, taste of cream, water melon and banana. Hides alcohol completely. (7/3/7/3/13 3.3)
Re-rate, bottled (BB 04/2006)
Dark ruby, good creamy brown head. Aroma has malts and roast. Sweetish with toffee, roasted malts, licorice and chocolate. Alcohol comes only slightly in the aftertaste. Warming. This feels more like Vienna (with high ABV). (6/4/6/3/13 3.2)
Deep brown color with a slight off white head. The taste is sweet and light spicy but very thin and boring. MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 30, 2004
Bottle. Dark brown colour, white head. Semi-sweet flavour, not spicy. Aftertaste of flat lager. Disappointing. caesar (7162) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 24, 2003
Bottled, 0.7 liter, BB '97 (>8 years old). Very dark red-brown color, small head. Aroma is very weak, some malts and alcohol. Taste is a bit stronger, definitely port-like, strong fruity and a bit alcoholic. Sirupy texture.

Bottled, 0.7 liter, BB '97 (>8 years old). Very dark red-brown coloured, small lasting head. Aroma of a moisty cellar. Port-like flavour. This one doesn't age nearly as well as the Cuvee de Noel Blonde, after 8 years it's definitely past it's peak. But probably it's just not a very good beer. Frothy beer initially, but the head soon disapppears. The aroma and flavour resembles a weak dunkel. Overall the beer is malty, and is good.
