Tasty malt bomb without being cloying. Very good example of the style though lower abv than is often expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sample from backlog notes. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, caramel, soft fruit, herbal, floral, some funk, flavors are not specific and somewhat muddled.

Hey, I love this ale. Nice, low alcohol with a big malty flavor, fluffy head, pretty burnt orange color and plenty of nasty floaties swirling around in the glass. It’s a lighter ale with some big ale attributes. I’ve had it twice now (out of a bottle) and both times I wished I had more. C’est bon!

It’s a very malty amber beer, tho not much to style. Aroma is malt, toffee, caramel, a bit of fruit. Appearance was great with a huge frothy head. Flavor was just ok,similar to nose, plus metallic. Good body. There are many other Bieres de Garde I’d rather have.

Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours hazy hazel, small tan head with nice residual lacing. Aroma is caramel, cut grass, bready, some fruity yeast esters, nutty. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter, lots of maltiness and yeast floral and fruit esters, plus some fresh cut field grass. Medium body. Quite pleasant.

Aroma is all caramel and toffee, strong, almost to the point of being overwhelming. The flavor is similar but lighter. Pretty sweet, bordering on cloying. Medium-bodied. Undercarbonated. One-dimensional.

Bottle with Bruce at 28 Springs. Pours a clear bee with a thin off white head. Lovely aroma with slight caramel and some dark fruits. Somewhat malty. Flavor disappoints though. Very thin and light bodied. Flavor is slightly bitter with slight toffee. For a below 6% beer maybe that is fine. Aroma les me to expect more. Overall good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber with sediment. Medium eggshell head that lingers a couple minutes. Sent is very much hops with malt undertones. Leans fruity. Mouthfeel is slightly chewy but not so much so to not be refreshing. Medium carbonation. Taste is almost the inverse of the smell. I got malt with hoppy undertones. Aside from the not overbearing shroud of malt is a very pleasant floral taste: rose and jasmine. Maybe even a hint of something tropical like mango. Importantly though this isn’t too sweet, and the finish is almost a non sticky carmel chocolate (rolos?!) with a very faint burnt coffee. I very much like this beer and to my tastes it’s underrated a bit here.

The beer is light amber colored and transparent with a small off white head. The aroma offers yeast, malt, apples, a splash of white wine. Grape skins and an earthy character. Light in body with fairly low carbonation. A touch of oxidation. Mild hop presence offers a hint of bitterness. Caramel malt and green apples. Pretty easy going.

Had at a tasting. Pleasantly fruity with a touch of sour notes. Nice aroma.

brick red with a hay and soft cheese aroma. flavor is somewhat grassy, a bit of barnyard, a little more cheese and vegetal notes. bright somewhat tangy finish. neat introduction to the style for me.
