Latterly the brand was under the ownership of AB InBev and brewed under contract at Camerons. Axed by AN InBev in 2009 but reappeared as a Camerons seasonal "guest ale" for March to May 2013. Apparently now under the ownership of a company called Limelight Brands Limited, which has a link with Camerons through a common director.

It’s back! A North East classic now available as a guest ale throughout March and April via Camerons Brewery. Castle Eden Ale is a light, creamy golden ale with a late addition of Styrian Goldings hops giving it an interesting contrast between an initial sweet surge of flavour followed by a slightly bitter aftertaste.

From cask at Charlies, as Camerons castle eden ale. Pours clear and golden orange with a little off-white head. Light fruity and caramel malt. Flavour is light fruity with a solid acidic edge. Ends with a mild fruity note.

Ungstrup (38138) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 16, 2008
Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with citrusy notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of citrus, but also light notes of metal, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Cask conditioned at Cockney Pub, Århus
Copper color, poor head. It has a light apple aroma. Quite watery mouthfeel, with a little caramel taste and ordinary to sub-ordinary bitterness, still with a touch of apples. It reminds me the apple touch from homebrewing kits. Easy.

ManVsBeer (10795) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2014
Cask @ Leggers Beer Festival, Dewsbury. Clear brown ale with no head. Has a deeper and darker malty aroma and taste.

Fin (10699) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2006
Cask at the Boat Inn, Stoke Breune, Northants. Poured amber colour, aroma had a slight yeastiness to it and flavour whilst fine was a tad tired and had been on a day or two too long, very standard type of bitter that I hadn’t had since it’s Whitbread days so whilst nice to see it still around will have to look out for it in better nick next time.
