COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Castle Lager uses South African hops – note the solid foam, as well as the reassuring bitterness with undertones of malt. This beer is somewhat dry, somewhat bitter but never sweet.

This is a commercial beer that unfortunately comes nowhere close to micro brewery levels and should not rated alongside them

Can - pours yellow gold with white head - nose and taste of corn, spent grain and metal - light medium body

Bottle @ THT. Weird country lager tick checklist. Typical lager look, clear golden, firm white head on top. Aroma of cardboard, skunk and grassy hops. Flavor is a bit skunked, light sweet and nothing new here. Just that...

jjsint (3493) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2017
Bottle from a corner shop in Highfields, Leicester. Golden yellow, clear with a bit of white head. Lemon aroma without the normal cardboardy hit in a macro lager. Bittersweet taste with a sour tang and more dryness near the finish. Reminds me of what I remember Budweiser tasting like: boring but surprisingly not terrible.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2017 Can from Victoria station, London. This isn't as bland as a lot of macro lagers, but the flavour isn't too alluring. It tastes like stale bread and a little bit of syrup. There's also a smoky taste that lingers in the background, like it has peat malt in it, or something like that. Not a great lager, not a great beer.

gramity (1684) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 30, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2017 Light straw colour, minimal head. Lighter than the typical colour of the water I rinse my beer glass with. Bit grassy and and bitter with some malt sweetness. Quite thin.
