Castle Lager uses South African hops – note the solid foam, as well as the reassuring bitterness with undertones of malt. This beer is somewhat dry, somewhat bitter but never sweet.

Draught. Clear golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of grainy malts, slightly metallic. Flavor is slightly bitter, a bit grainy. Boring pilsener and a bit off.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 "The beer is light golden in colour with a nice amount of foam on top just after pouring it into the glass. The taste is standard lager with some sweetness and barely any bitterness. It has a watery aftertaste and ends up kind of boring. Not bad though all things considered." - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com

Sehr ordentliches Lager mit typischem Mix aus Wasser und überraschend viel Getreidearomen. So hat dieses Lager sogar fast richtig Geschmack und eine gute Trinkbarkeit.

Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Aroma of corn and grains. Taste is corn, grains, metallic notes.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Getrnketempel', bottled in June 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy and a little skunky aroma of grains and some straw. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, grassy taste of grains and straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and a little metallic finish. Almost medium-bodied, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

330ml Flasche. Klar und golden mit minimaler Schaumkrone. Getreidig. Wässrig. Typisches Lager.

This is a commercial beer that unfortunately comes nowhere close to micro brewery levels and should not rated alongside them

Can - pours yellow gold with white head - nose and taste of corn, spent grain and metal - light medium body

Bottle @ THT. Weird country lager tick checklist. Typical lager look, clear golden, firm white head on top. Aroma of cardboard, skunk and grassy hops. Flavor is a bit skunked, light sweet and nothing new here. Just that...

Bottle from a corner shop in Highfields, Leicester. Golden yellow, clear with a bit of white head. Lemon aroma without the normal cardboardy hit in a macro lager. Bittersweet taste with a sour tang and more dryness near the finish. Reminds me of what I remember Budweiser tasting like: boring but surprisingly not terrible.
