COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Castle Milk Stout has a thick texture, strong flavour and a full, satisfying and complex taste, with a hint of caramel. Dark roasted malt provides its distinctive dark colouring, and the creamy, smooth head comes from a special yeast.

(can) Black coloured with a creamy and stable brown foam. Mild sweet aroma of roasted malt with coffee and chocolate and hints of soap. More bitter than sweet flavour, medium bodied, smooth carbonation; medium dry roastmalty start with chocolate and caramel; dry and bitter, but also slim finish. Not very complex but drinkable brew.

330 ml brown bolttle. Pours black but slightly transparent with dark tan head that subsided into a ring of fine bubbles leaving a patchy lacing. Roast malt chocolaty aroma. Dark roast malt flavour with a touch of sourness and moderate hop bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes sweetly with a touch of sourness and light bitterness of dark roast malt and hops. Decent but not memorable.

A delicous dark beer with a nice thick head at the start. A true stout with a almost woody-smoke smell and a delicous full flavor. It’s a truly delicous South African Stout classic.

Canned. Black opaque colour with big brown head. Syrup and roast in aroma. Sweet malty and bitter old coffee in flavour. Very watery. No aftertaste to talk about. One of the worst stouts I’ve had so far.

Can 450ml, produced by Cervejas de Mocambique
Very dark ruby, almost opaque. Creamy brown head. Aroma of burnt sugar and molasses. Roasted malts, vegetables and some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Quite unbalanced stout.

2.4
yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 23, 2005
Tasted 23/05/2005. 340ml bottle from Woolworths, Kilbirnie. Inky black appearance with a touch of read. Crusty, yellow tinted, dark tan head that dissapears but is very lacey. Mild aroma that just hints of toasted grains, leaning a little towards burnt for my liking. Flavour is a mix of bittersweet malts with some milky lactose sweetness showing through. Some grain astringency. Mouthfeel is a bit wimpy and overly carbonated, which detracts significantly from what might be an ok flavour. Not smooth enough to make the average grade.
