1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle in South Africa. Poured very black with a thin brownish head. The aroma was very minimal of grains but no aroma of hops. My first taste was full of anticipation but was not rewarded. No lingering aftertaste. I would not try it again.
My bottle is brewed by Nile Breweries Ltd, Uganda.

33cl bottle. A black beer with a huge most good lasting tan head. Aroma of dark mild roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, melasse. taste of liquorice, dark malt, soft roasted malt, chocolate, solid brew!
Dark colour, tan head, some malt notes. Nice sugary depth. Thin body, little bitterness. egg (408) - USA - JUN 6, 2017
Pours black with a light tan head. Visibly thin and over carbbed for the style. Nose is metal. Taste is light chocolate, dark fruit, cocoa dust, burnt wood. Not good for the style but having a mass produced stout isn’t so bad. YantarCoast (1475) - Moscow, RUSSIA - APR 7, 2017

Bottled (750ml) Black colour with brownish-tan head. Medium sweetness, dark chocolate and coffee. A reliable standby from SAB. Very nice on tap as well, with a creamier texture. Nicke80 (824) - Södertälje, SWEDEN - NOV 1, 2016
340ml bottle at Montecasino Johannesburg. Pours black with medium head. Roasted coffee aroma with similar taste. Sweet after taste with hints of cocoa and coffee. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 8, 2016
Bottle, Nassau Bahamas. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy brown head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is slightly sweet with lactose and chocolate, some roastiness, a little burnt note. The flavor is pretty decent, not overly sweet, but plenty of lactose. Nicely roasty and chocolaty without any burnt or acrid notes you sometimes get with stouts. Medium bodied with just the slightest bit of cling and soft gentle carbonation. Pretty good stuff, far exceeded my expectations for a South African beer.
