Sampled during CBC 2013. Orange pour with a small khaki head that lasts and laces well. Lovely vanilla on the aroma, which I happen to dig a lot, some folks around me thought it was a bit much. Beyond that there’s some citrus, sweet fruits, and a bit of doughiness. Less vanilla in the flavor, and not quite as good. Some citrus, spice, and doughy malts to back it. Not bad. On tap at the Thirsty Monk. Pale yellow pour, with a medium, frothy, white head. The aroma is white bread, damp grass, and some vanilla extract, if you’re searching for it. The flavor is mild sweetness, and an abrupt bitterness. Medium to heavy body, hard, and chewy. Overall, this is a terrible attempt at a saison. No subtlety or depth to the aroma, and the flavor is unpleasant. The palate is harsh, making this difficult to drink. Not a fan.
