I don’t know what to think when I see the other reviews because the aroma and taste I get from this beer is buttered popcorn. I understand that this could be from Diacetyl. But I absolutely loved this beer with this flavor. Mouthfeel is spot on as well.

Bottle thanks to Beerman6686. Pours very dark brown/almost black with tan head. Nose and taste of burnt chocolate, smoke, burnt coffee, ashy chocolate and vanilla. Medium body. Not the best imperial stout I’ve had but it works for some reason. wlajwl (7009) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Aroma is earthy malts, mild chocolate and vegetables/spices. The flavor is dark malts, spices/vegetables, mild heat and and tangy/alcoholic finish. 48FanInCali (851) - California, USA - OCT 31, 2013
Not all that good. Way too over carbed. Lots of nice roastiness but too bitter. Far too champaign with the mouthfeel.

Pretty sweet...not a thick body but a medium body with very sweet, almost tart notes throughout. Malty sweetness. Not much roast to the malt. Aftertaste is like an artificial sweetener. Boozy but not too much. O.K. all around. Something about Weston Brewery beers just really turns me off...

Dark mahogany pour with a solid latte head. Nose of cocoa, baker’s chocolate, roasted malt, and brownie batter. Nestle Quik, sweetened chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and molasses in flavor. The sweetness is a bit much. Was initially surprised by this brew but it becomes cloying relatively quickly. hayduke (5619) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 4, 2013
This was courtesy of Strykzone. Thanks Dave. Pours a dark brown with a robust foamy tan head. Nose of burnt malts and chocolate. Medium plus body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich chocolate malts and the finish is rich and bitter. Quite tasty,. jgentgesdo (694) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Pours deep brown, no head. Nose is caramel, salt, beef broth, olives. Slight smoke, rather liquid smoky. There is some resinous hops. Flavor is sweet and bitter at the same time. Strangely watery mouthfeel for such a big beer. Meh. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 13, 2013
Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Roasty, chocolate, oak aromas. Burnt, roasty, chocolate flavors. I’ve never been a fan of Cathedral Square, but I was quite surprised by how good this one was. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - APR 7, 2013
Once poured, this beer is black as sin with a medium tan head, and the aroma fuses the strong scent of roasted malts and a subtle undercurrent of wood fire. The taste is quite umami, mildly sweet, and slightly bitter, which makes your mouth muscles pucker ever so slightly with pleasure; furthermore, the palate combines a medium body, thick texture (the two of which in combination make for a very complex mouthfeel, especially once the umami is factored into the equation), soft carbonation, and a long and slight bitter finish.
