I have had this beer several times before, but this is the first time I have had it on tap. Great roasty/sweet scent, jet black with very small amount of foam, bourbon sweetness and slight hop bitterness in the flavor, good oily palate. Give this beer a try. In the hard to get noticed world of Imperial Stouts, this one has carved out an interesting niche.
Tap at 2865 Brewhouse. Black with a creamy ring of head and medium lacing. Roasted malts, more malt, a little marshmallow and faint milk chocolate aromas. Taste is lightly sweet with a slight chalk aftertaste. Medium body with a creamy feel. northropfrye (3654) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 1, 2016
Bottle. Dark black body off white head some lacing good retention. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is coffee maybe a hint of dark chocolate. Not the most complex imperial stout, but a decent one. Not bad. HuskerTan (2320) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - AUG 26, 2015
A- Coffee, espresso, cocoa, vanilla, subtle char, roasty.
A- Black color, black liquid, brown head.
A- Coffee, mocha, slightly bitter, smoke, roasty.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish.
O- Big body and balanced too. Not as complex as I’d like but smooth and delicious.

Bottle shared at porch nite with Raith, Brisben, Breck. Pours dark brown with one finger of tan head. Aroma is roast barley and pine. Flavor is fairly bitter and roasty. No caramel, dark fruits. Just roast and fairly bitter. Too much so. Drinkable. Lighter bodied as well. Finishes dry and bitter. csaso (2306) - Missouri, USA - JAN 7, 2015
Bottle - very big tan foamy head, pitch black color, very toasty malt aroma and flavor, some kind of weird off hop flavor (maybe an old bottle?), takes away from the overall beer though

Pours black with almost 3 fingers of dark tan head. Aroma is strongly milk chocolate with a little bit of caramel and some sprucy hops. Taste is medium bitter. Lots of dark coffee with chocolate and spruce. Medium bodied with a somewhat oily yet thick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, very bitter finish. Overall, I’m really digging this beer. Probably the best beer offered from Cathedral Square. dfearnley (2247) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 11, 2014
Bottle to goblet Loads of milk, rancid milk, diacetal. I can’t imagine that this is supposed to be like this. Black...tan head. Disgusting curdled milk, some coffee/chocolate.
