I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

WooHoo! First to rate this beer! A black pour with crimson highlights and a fluffy, brown head. The aroma is a wonderful mixture of hot cocoa with toffee and some light pine. The medium body has an oily texture with average carbonation. The taste increases in bitterness all the way to the long, dry finish. This is a unique take on the style. Pours a deep brown black color with a tall, very creamy, tan head that has a lot of staying power. Aroma has a very full, fresh malt nose with lot of toasted malt presence, light chocolate and some burnt acidity at the tail end. Flavor matches the nose perfectly. A complex malty flavor overall with strong toasted malt notes early, a light chocolate flavor in the middle, coffee presence shows up later in the flavor and finishes with a light earthy hops presence. Body is modest in density with a very creamy feeling. Overall a very enjoyable beer. I love that this RIS stuck with the more toasted malt aspect as opposed to the more common dark fruity aspect the RIS style can incorporate. Can’t wait to get my hands on another one of these bottles. racecarr98 (42) - Illinois, USA - JUL 3, 2014
This stout is well rounded and full bodied. It has a good flavor that will definitely convert you to the dark side. thegreenrooster (4517) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 14, 2011
Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of chocolate malts, burnt brown sugar and coffee. Flavor is nice as well. Heavy roasted malt followed some caramel. No alcohol burn at all. This brewer has put out a few below par offerings but this is really solid.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. A rich black pour. A smallish tan head stays. A roasty coffee nose. The flavor is big coffee with dark fruot and fudge. Hops are fairly big and seem to be European with some sulfur. This was nice. This would be wonderful aged in whiskey barrels. Tmoney99 (14853) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Bottle. Poured a black color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, caramel and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy bittersweet roasted malt flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a very good beer. ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - AUG 14, 2012
22oz bottle courtesy of jaminjohnson. thanks, ben! pours a dark, cola-brown capped by a thick, fizzy, khaki head that leaves light rings of lace. aroma is damn nice with notes of dark chocolate, cake batter, roasted coffee, and toffee backed by herbal hops, smoke, and light anise. flavor is delicious with big, roasted malts, wheat toast, dark chocolate, and espresso backed by caramel candies, licorice, and piney, herbal hops. palate is medium bodied with heavy carbonation and an intense, lingering roasted finish. overall, a damn nice imperial stout. edgallow (4376) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 29, 2012
