Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with white head. Spicy rye, alcohol, wet carpet aroma. A lot of spicy rye flavoring in this one. Spicy rye, bready, earthy, wet cat food flavors. Hmm, very much a spicy rye beer at a barley wine level alcohol. I don’t think it works that well.

22oz bomber, courtesy of gregwilsonstl, pours with a deep copper hop hazed body that supports a full tan head. The aroma offers up malt thickened pine hops to go along with thin citrus hops, thick spicy dank hops and then more various sweet smelling malt notes. The taste starts with thick malt thickened pine hops and then heading into a modestly growing spicy onion like hoppiness. Nice sipper as the malts try and create a near nectar like sweetness amid a sea of tasty pine hop bitterness and resiny hop notes.

Bottle shared with the BOSS group. Pours a dark brown with minimal head. Aroma is malty with toffee and noticeable rye presence. Flavor follows and is very bitter. Overly so. But overall a nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice sweet spicy aroma with a good amount of malt sweetness and just a hint of rye. Interesting dark amber color with a fluffy off white head. Lots of lacing as the head sticks around longer than I expected it to. Poured out thick and dense into a tulip glass. Flavor is also sweet with brown sugar, molasses and maple syrup notes up front followed by a punch of rye and ending with some hop bitterness. Complex and enjoyable 3-step flavor that continues to change on the tongue up until your next sip. Palate is substantial for the style. I don’t think this is a barleywine; more like an imperial rye IPA. Either way, it was pretty good. Reasonably priced and unique, I would buy this again.

Two words for this: UFF DA! Has a nice sweet and yeasty smell but crushes the palate upon quaff. Not sure if it’s the rye, the hops or the booze, but something is overpowering here. Not in a bad way, mind you, but this is a total sipper. Going to let it come up a few degrees and see if that changes anything.
