COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full of rich complex malt flavours. Using a broad mix of chocolate and crystal malts, the Cavalier Brown delivers an initial burst of caramel sweetness, followed by a dry, crisp roasted note. The perfect mix of chocolate and toasty caramel flavours. With added complexity aromas from classic American hops add subtle citrus notes that will reveal something new in every sip.

330mL bottle, undated but less than three months old. $3.50. Appearance: Dark brown, very quickly dissapitating tan head down to a ring. Aroma: Toffee, milk chocolate, roast malt. Tiny traces of fruity hops. Quite robust and complex. Taste: Toffee sweetness upfront, roast malt, chocolate. Long nutty finish. Medium bitterness. Palate: Moderate carbonation. Good body. Overall: Nice roasty brown ale.

Good, standard, reliable brown ale. Like a friend who helps you move, or that decades-old appliance that keeps on working. It's a tonka truck, good and simple. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle into a stemmed glass. Dark brown, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, caramel. Lovely roasted malts aroma - I couldn’t sense the hops. Taste was predominately sweet and delicious. I like a bigger flavoured beer, but it was still very nice. Happily have again - won’t overwhelm food, and would also be nice on it’s own on a cooler day.

Excited about this one as I can’t fault the other beers of this brewery, so into a snifter at just on cool it goes. Deepest ruby cola body that shimmers in the lights. Big, foamy, whipped up dollop of cream settles atop. Sultry, milk chocolate, roasted carob, almond meal, earth, a touch of rust and buttery brioche on the nose. A malt driven madman on the palate with a lot of funky nuances keeping it interesting. Hints of plum, raisin toast, green peppercorn, charred wood and earth mingle with a good base of creamy chocolate and dusty malts. Sweet front balanced by a drawing dryness mid-palate and tangy, mildly bitter fruit finish. Medium to medium light body with good presence. Carbonation is spritzy to low. Light diacetyl as in the nose adds complexity. I really enjoyed this one. Sessionable or just good as a solo brew!!! (33cL, no date stamp, Boozebud)

Black with lots of brown/white head. Surprisingly bitter aroma, with some chocolate and malt tones. Tastes of malt with a decent amount of hops. Lots and lots of burnt chocolate taste. Chocolate taste lingers long after the beer is gone. Quite crispy on the palate, but still very smooth.

On tap. Head disappeared fast! Coffee aroma and malty coffee flavor plus a little boozy and unbalanced. Not good enough

Bottle, Hoo Haa Bar, Brisbane Deep ruby body, holds a off-white head. Nice nose; plenty of hop citrus & pine to accompany rich toffee, biscuit, nuts & chocolate. Full body, plenty of texture, good carbonation. Good hit of nutty, toffee, biscuity malt with notes of chocolate & spicy hop. Long finish, plenty of bitterness.
