Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours black. Fizzy brown head. Nose of chocolate, lacto sweetness and coffee. Taste of harshly burnt coffee grounds, lacto sweetness, barley, grain and chocolate. Rather unpleasant. Ratman197 (15372) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 22, 2010
Bottle courtesy of Cletus poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and light coffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and a hint of coffee with a smooth lingering roasty finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 25, 2012

12oz bottle-pours a too big foamy brown head with black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/chocolate. Taste is ashy, metallic, asprin, dark malt. Stopped at 4oz. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Nearly black pour. Tan head. Light charred aroma with some coffee and cocoa. Flavor is very dry, cocoa powder, charcoal and maybe a hint of smoke. Average.

Pours black, big fizzy tan head. Aroma has notes of sweet caramel, some lacto, touch of roast and coffee. Taste is some sweet caramel, some roast, dry finish. Watery, bland, and very fizzy. Once was enough, this beer is not very good at all. AirForceHops (7820) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 10, 2012
12 oz. bottle. English pint shows a nearly black color with frothy, tan head. Over carbonated like the previous two bottles I’ve had from this brewer. Nose is roasted malt and barley. Flavor is roasted barley, grain and malt, with a light amount of chocolate sweetness. Texture is ashy. Overall no real problems but nothing to go out of your way for. Bottled. Poured deep brown with a colossal dark tan head that wasn’t interested in receding.. not usually a good sign when it pours like that. The aroma picked up a lovely blend of sweeter, dry-roasted chocolates, vanilla, and lesser earthy character.. fresh, airy feel around.. I really dug it. The flavor found mostly sweet molasses and vanilla extract at the core, with similar sticky sugars extending outward and hanging on the finish.. most of the roast gave way to sweetness, but a little came back with some chocolate bitterness on the finish.. more molasses on the aftertaste.. not great, but no real complaints. Lighter-bodied and very heavily carbonated on the palate.. almost had to chew through the bubbles.. not as dry or roasty as I wanted, but still an aiight brew. Bottle. Pours dark brown with a white head. Smells and tastes big and roasty with some sweet citrus splashes on the finish. jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 13, 2011
12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours black with a thick, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, and some hops. Nothing that stands out. Flavor pretty good for a stout, with the chocolate and roasted malts being present but not overpowering. A good beer.
