"A true seasonal beer, as refreshing as it should be! Taste it in the summer, sitting at a terrace table " Originally, season beer was a beer brewed before the summer and intended for summer-season farmhands. It had low alcohol content and a marked bitterness that made it really refreshing. We wanted to offer a truly seasonal Season with production limited in time. As Laurent Agaches

On tap. Pours with a massive, creamy and long lasting, rocky white head with good lace. Clear golden body beneath. Aromas show a light graininess and noticeable sourness. Lightly bready, champagne grapes, poached pear, floral, and light clove phenols. A touch vegital as it warms. Flavors are tart, sour, floral and peppery. Lemon juice and poached pear notes. Grainy and lightly earthy. Medium bubbles.

330ml bottle @ Malja, Kuopio

Pours light orange with a white head. Aroma has notes of fruits, spices and earthy hops. Taste is quite spicy with notes of hops and pepper. Finish is slightly bitter and peppery. Okay, a bit too spicy saison.

330 ml bottle @ Malja, Kuopio.
Pours a hazy orange colour with a white thick head. Aroma of sweet fruits, some malts and flowers. Flavour of sweet ripe fruits, yeast, pepper, grassy hops and dry bready malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a quite rich mouthfeel with ripe fruits and spices. Not very refreshing and maybe a bit too much on the spicy side.

Bottle; Pour is murky light golden with an off white head in this tulip; nice retention, decent lacing is present as well. The nose is florals, citrus, and light bready malts. Lemon zest, grassy hops, floral notes, with a light tart element - I have to say; I enjoyed this one, more or less.

750 ml. Clear yellow body. White, fizzy head, slowly diminishing. Pilsner aroma. Toasted grain, grass, floral hops, herbs. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Dry finish. Taste of flowers with a hint of tart vinegar in the finish. Best way to describe this, both the aroma and flavor, is delicate. Not a bad thing. Nice for a 4.5% beer, but a bit too flowery and tart.

Assaggiata due volte ultimamente: una al Moeder Fontainas, una al Villaggio della Birra 2011. Si diceva fosse un filo di brett: per me era il sambuco a caratterizzare cos la birra. Buonina cmq

Appearance: medium clear gold; thick white head leaving frothy lace. Aroma: floral, funky, notes of citrus, dusty basement, yeast and mild grains. Taste: as the aroma indicated, with definite flowery-funky notes and a hint of sourness. Finish: smooth, slightly clingy. Notes: Not my favorite saison. While I liked the idea of the elderflowers and the creativity it implied, I didnt enjoy the execution. A little too sour, musty and funky; palate was almost oily. Bottle from Rare Beer Club.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Spicy aroma with some funky bretty notes and a light sweetness. The flavor has dry bretty funk, flowery and earthy notes, and a nice funky finish. Good stuff.
