COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Roundness to be enjoyed by the side of an open fire! We wanted to create a more palateful, stronger beer, but without spices, unlike the majority of Christmas beers. The work therefore first of all focused on the selection of the barley malts. We needed a mixture of five different barley malts for obtaining the dark ruby colour and the body that we wanted. Then, we wanted hops that were not too strong, in order to contribute to that typical roundness of winter beers. This is why we have mainly opted for the Slovenian Styrian Golding, not very bitter, but used in great quantity and combined with a little Cascade, for a very fine hopping."

Bottle to snifter. Looks solid; a semi-transparent brown with fluffy semi-transparent light beige lacing. Smells somewhat doughy, bitter, and yeasty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Alright.

Bottle. Almost hazy copper liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of dried fruit, licorice, light chocolate, light banana, raw sugar and light bubblegum. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of dried fruit and raw sugar. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit watery and characterless.

Rating #8from the european beer festival 2008. Dark black with a brown head. Some darkfruits in the aroma, though not alot. Roasted malts mixes with different dusty hop notes. Not as remarkable as i would have expected.

Bottle. Pours a murky red/brown with a stable beige/light brown head. Has a bit of lacing. Sweet, stingy fruity aroma on a slightly malty background. Feels a bit cloying. Spicy notes as it warms – honey? Faint notes of peppermint, but in a malty sort of way. Flavour is fruity and malty. Same finish with a lingering tartness, which becomes vinous as it warms. Not much else going on. Overall a bit cloying and feels a bit thin/watery sometimes. Otherwise decent. 04-02-09.

Opaque dark red, strong white head. Very vague aroma, some licorice and roastiness. Sweet and spicy, but not obnoxiously so. Chocolate and toffee notes. Finishes a bit watery. Quite nice, could be more full-bodied.

@ Gyllenbock 14-12-13: ganska medioker både i doft och smak. Söt och maltig med liten beska. Känns lite intetsägande. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle. (thanks SirLimpsalot) A bit hazy dark red with a medium head. A bit thin and sweet with malt, chocolate, some perfume and light roasted. Nothing special.
