Bomber from Liz. Pours very dark brown/black with some large tan bubbles. Aroma of chocolate and smooth burnt malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is lightly smokey, darkly milk chocolate, earthy burnt malt. It’s sort of earthy/gritty. Finishes on a bitter note. Love Fuggles.

22 oz. bottle via trade with smith4498 - Pours a dark brown color with 2/3 finger thick tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is much of the same. Medium body. A pretty tasty beer. Thanks Jason

Bottle sampled during the Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 1/21/12. Black pour with a medium tan head. Sweet aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Malty flavor with a hint of green olive before a roasty finish.

Got as an extra in a trade. Pours black with a Dark brown hue when held in the light, with a deep tan head. Smells chocolaty with hints of espresso as it warms. Flavor is fairly hoppy, nice roast and chocolate malt, dry finish with possibly some smoky elements. Above Average, but I like an Oatmeal stout to be an Oatmeal Stout.

Sample at the 4th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/21/2012: This brew is an opaque black color with a medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of roasted malt and coffee. Medium-bodied (actually a little on the thin side) with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt and mild coffee. The finish is malty with a short and faint hops aftertaste. Just alright overall.

PorterPounder (7967) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 1, 2012
Orlando, Fl - Whole Foods - 22 oz bomber. Pours black as tar with a thin off-white colored head - not much lacing. Aroma has some chocolate, hints of marshmallows, a faint trace of fruitiness. Flavor has some black dirt earthiness, a hint of chocolate, some black coffee. Flavor turns a bit metallic near the end. Mouthfeel has nice lacticity to it. A tad underwhelming, but not bad.

Pours an opaque black with tons of dark brown head and large bubbles. The nose is extremely roasty with a pungent acetone note and some malt sweetness in the back. The flavor is similar, roasted and burnt with magic marker and some malt sweetness in back. The feel is light, thin in back and overly oily and slick and overly carbonated.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of juiceisloose. Pours dark brown in color with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma had a combination of mild sweetness and dark roasted malt. Additional notes of chocolate and some background earthiness. The flavor opens with sweet smooth chocolate and dark roasted malts. The finish has char and moderate bitterness. I didn’t know what to expect with this and was left pretty much neutral after the taste.

Bottle to glass courtesy of Tricyclist in a pretty awesome trade.Has notes of roasty/toasty malts.Definitely picking up lots of coffee notes. It poured an awesome black color with a thin brown head. medium bitterness. Very smooth, almost silky. Love the mouthfeel. I think I was a little disappointed in the flavor and aroma after the pour. the pour was very beautiful. I was definitely jacked up, but the experience failed to deliver. I would drink this again to give it another try.

Black, with a thick but fragile brown head. Nice but unexpected fruity aroma, plus some red wine and coffee. Some dark chocolate and vanilla, as well. Flavorwise, I get coffee, wine, some grapey notes, and a dryish finish. Oddly thin bodied, but not in a bad way. Seems like kinda a tropical stout, I suppose. Thanks to my brother for hauling this up from Naples!
