Dark brown. No head. Light fudgey aroma w hints if chocolate. Body is a bit thin, with little malt character, perhaps a bit fudgey. bhensonb (15603) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Bomber from Liz. Pours very dark brown/black with some large tan bubbles. Aroma of chocolate and smooth burnt malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is lightly smokey, darkly milk chocolate, earthy burnt malt. It’s sort of earthy/gritty. Finishes on a bitter note. Love Fuggles. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2011
A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice sweet chocolate with light toffee, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth chocolate with light vanilla, powdery chocolate, classic in style. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 6 2011. Dogbrick (13525) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Sample at the 4th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/21/2012: This brew is an opaque black color with a medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of roasted malt and coffee. Medium-bodied (actually a little on the thin side) with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt and mild coffee. The finish is malty with a short and faint hops aftertaste. Just alright overall. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 15, 2009

Draft… Tar black ale with a creamy, beige head. Good retention slowly leaves thick lacing. The aroma is an enjoyable medley of dark chocolate, espresso and leather with a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied and very creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is grainy with lots of coffee and bitter roastiness. Mid-lengthy, burnt, moderately bitter finish. I’m not certain whether this was served on nitro or not. Nice effort. kp (10881) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAR 27, 2010

Rotbox offering @ home. Pours a dark brown appearance with a thin dark brown head. There’s some coffee and anise notes in the nose. Oatmeal and a smoke as well. Some frosting notes. Kind of thin and watery. Fairly burnt / smoky flavor. Dark chocolate. Fairly bitter / herbal finish. Bleh. alexsdad06 (10639) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2011
22 oz. bottle courtesy of juiceisloose. Pours dark brown in color with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma had a combination of mild sweetness and dark roasted malt. Additional notes of chocolate and some background earthiness. The flavor opens with sweet smooth chocolate and dark roasted malts. The finish has char and moderate bitterness. I didn’t know what to expect with this and was left pretty much neutral after the taste. sebletitje (10282) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2010
Draft @ FBGBF ’10.
pours dark brown, tan head.
aroma definitely has a nice hop profile, light roasted malts with a touch of chocolate.
flavors, fairly hoppy, nice roast and chocolate malt palate, dry finish with possibly some smoke elements. Nice stout that I found to be a tad too hoppy.
