Very pale orange/blond with a thick pillowy head. Fruity and floral aroma. Snappy hop bitterness with some floral sweetness in the finish. Smooth on the palate, but a bit astringent. Very good overall. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 20, 2008

330ml bottle. Pint glass. Enjoyed on oct´11. Pale gold in color, foggy appearance. Dense, off-white in color, froth creates a lasting rocky head with incredible lacing collars, spots & flakes on sides. Smooth upfront followed by increasing estery citric flavor. Earthy bitter mouthfeel. Light body, medium carbonation. Rough bitter finish. Slightly astringent & subtle malt. Easy drinkability. A refreshing beer met in 2009 Summer has become a classic drink to me in summer days.

Bottle from TOny’s in Littleton. As an aside - took a lot of searching to find it in the RB database. Pours surprisingly light - cloudy yellow. Aroma is a nice blend of grassy hops and belgian yeast. Flavor is lemony yeast to start, and a bone-dry finish with a pleasant lasting bitterness. Reminds me of Westy Blonde, actually - though not nearly as complex. All in all - this is a really nice beer. A little pricey and - it wouldn’t score super-high against a lot of other IPA’s, but it’s quite good. Bonus point for wishing I had bought another.

Bottle from WLV. Pour is cloudy golden color with a nice frothy white head. Aroma is dry hop, champagne, citrus fruits, grass, lemon, and a light cookie malt backbone. Flavor is surprisingly clean up front. A long high-riding metallic/ citrus flavor dominates early. That declines into and earthy bready flavor and the beer culminates with a malty marzen-like finish. Interesting and very very easy to drink. The palate on this beer is different than any I have tasted and it makes it mighty smooth. Sigmund (7656) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 19, 2008
Bottle at the GBBF 2008. Golden colour, moderate head. Moderate but pleasant and "clean" aroma of hops, a hint of flowers. The flavour is reasonably hoppy (German / Czech hops?) with a moderate sweetness. Nice enough. CanIHave4Beers (4188) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - MAY 5, 2011
This is a very elegant looking beer, really very pale, moderately hazy but not cloudy with a big fluffy withe head that leaves a nice lace on the glass. The aroma is very interesting, very grassy, a little herbal, a lot more malt than one would expect from an IPA, it’s kind of a grainy malt aroma though.... there is really no sweetness in the smell of this beer at all. More of that grassiness shows up in the flavor. I like the way this beer tastes, not really as an IPA, but as something else entirely... it’s not like anything i’ve tasted before. It’s got a rustic earthiness to it, but it’s very crisp and clean. The moderate bitterness plays a key role here as well balancing a bright pilsner-malt-esque character. There isn’t a lot of sweetness to this beer but the malt starts going that way mid palate, but the beer finishes very dry.
I’d love to try this beer fresh, as I assume it is more IPA like. I guess that assumption could just be wrong though, maybe it’s just this breweries very off the wall riff on the style. Maybe they weren’t even trying to make an IPA here, maybe that’s just the way it’s being marketed in the US... Whatever it is it’s perfectly enjoyable beer.
