Gather ‘round all ye young ‘uns, all ye boozers and freaks, let me tell you the story of one Scruffy McGee. T’was an alt-brewin’ fella, a real sun of a gun, but he whips up the finest alts under the sun. Smoked to perfection, a real powerful blend. S’what made his name a Cedar Creek legend. But drink this in scruples, ye lads and ye lasses, or, like Scruffy, you’ll fall down drunk, right on your asses.”

Excellent. I’m not big on smoked beers but this one is light and gets the balance close to my liking.

SHIG (4965) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - FEB 2, 2016
Can: poured a dark brown with a tan head. Smokey nose. Taste was smokey and burnt roasted malty.

kevinator (2860) - The Colony, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2015
Nice smokey aroma. Pretty light copper color with good clarity. Light to medium body. Smokiness is upfront but not overpowering. It tends to fade without as much malty support as needed and a low hop presence.

dyetube (1378) - Hurst, Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2015
On tap at Lakewood Craft and Growler. Pours a rich copper with a thin white head. The aromas are smoked wood, malt. The mouthfeel is slightly watery and has a medium body with medium carbonation. Cheers!

On tap at Craft Pride. Pours a cloudy brown with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is smoke, pepper, ash. Thin mouth, smoke, toasted malts, light, crushable, very good.

Not as smokey as I expected but seems to be a good example of a German alt beer. Great smokey aroma. Medium bitterness ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

blipp (9899) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 16, 2015
Can. Pours golden amber with a white head. Sweet and lightly smoked malts, low bitterness, toffee, and a moderate smoked malty finish. Not bad.

tmoreau (4734) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2015
Shared 16 oz. can poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey amber hue, with a presentable layer of off white head foam that gradually reduced to a creamy film and thick ring, leaving spots & streaks of lacing on the glass. The nose was malt & light grain, a touch of caramel, leather, and smoke. Light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste was similar notes as the aroma, but a bit washed out texture-wise.

brandon1989 (712) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - FEB 15, 2015
Pours a mildly hazy amber color with a small one finger off white head that dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is meaty smokiness but not overpowering. The taste does have the meat smokiness to it but there is some subtle sweet notes hidden in there as well. You also pick up some woodiness which is quite common with this style.

Can 16fl.oz.

[ As Cedar Creek Scruffys Smoked Alt ].
Clear light medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, smoke, wood, dark malt notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, smoked. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140517]

Nice dark amber color, small head, bad malty smell, bitter flavor with even more in the after flavor
