Draft at Cellarmaker, pours black with a tan head. Aroma is big coconut, barrel notes, roast. Flavor is medium sweet, somewhat boozy, to be expected. Good coconut flavor. Full bodied, hot but not terrible to drink.

1L swingtop to snifter, filled on 12/19/17 and shared with the Mrs (thanks Brad). This batch is 13.5% abv. Looks good; an opaque black with bubbly mocha head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, oak, and coconut. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly bitter medium full-bodied mouthfeel that mildly warming but dangerously drinkable. Smooth and delicious.

Huge malty brew with some abv showing. Still smooth for a 14%er. Residing and soy, chocolate, light coconut and vanilla. Pleasant. Needs coffee :)

Aroma of coconut, leather, earthy, smells like low quality coconut shampoo with some cocoa notes. pours black with a bit of coconut oil as a head. Taste of coconut, leather, hop matter, alcohol, chocolate. Very sweet, cloying and oily mouthfeel, with a harsh oak/hop/alcohol finish that definitely doesn’t leave you wanting more.

Dogbrick (14386) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2016
Sample at the tap room. Inky black color with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, oak, coconut and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of toasted coconut, chocolate malt, oak and anise. The finish is boozy with a coconut and chocolate aftertaste. Good beer overall.
