[Tap] Nearly black in color with a dense light brown colored head. Rich aroma of charred malts, heavy coffee, smoke and bitter chocolate. Taste is of coffee, baker’s chocolate, ash, light wood smoke, light vanilla and brown sugar. Smooth and oily palate. Lingering sweet malts and bitter coffee grounds in the finish. Very impressive. I actually went around the corner to Sightglass to buy some of the Rwandan blend that they used in the beer. It’s just as tasty.
From tap at Cellarmaker, San Francisco. Aroma is smooth coffee, subtle smoke, lactic creamy, mocha, chocolate. Flavour is mild sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Damn amazing Porter, the Imperial variety will probably destroy me. This is god-tier level drinkability and balance. culchiem (3978) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2017
Draught, black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and a little ash. Flavour is roast malt, coffee, a little cocoa smoke. Creamy roast finish dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 6, 2017

Notes: on tap at the brewery, Jun ’17 j12601 (12000) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 30, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep cola brown to black with a thin tan head. Big roast and coffee, don’t really get the smoke on the nose. Medium bodied, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, a hint of roast and the faintest bit of smoke, but I’m searching for it hard. Slow chocolate, roast, cocoa, malt, roast on the finish. Long lingering roast, very faint smoke, but I’m really searching for it. Probably wouldn’t pick this up blind. Tasty chocolate filled stout, light coffee but never really got the smoke that I was expecting. Doesn’t keep it from being delicious though.

Sample @ CBC Boston, 2016. Deep brown pour with a tan head. Richly roasty nose – charred grain and coffee bean. Mild peppery flavor. More coffee. Light floral accents. More dark chocolate. Earthy roast malt. Full bodied but dry. Quite drinkable stuff. Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2017
Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours brown with a creamy, tan head. Huge coffee aroma, with light roasted malt undertones. Medium sweet flavour with more rich coffee, light earthy bitterness, hearty baking cocoa. Roasty finish, with more earth, coffee, cocoa, faint dried berries. Very good. ansalon (3846) - Stockholm, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2017
Pours black with a low tan head. Aromas of coffee, ash, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate. Taste is chocolatey and somewhat smoky with vanilla tones. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. swtness2020 (10) - Carmichael, California, USA - JAN 2, 2017
My favorite porter. Great aroma and mouthfeel. The coffee doesn’t make the beer acrid. Perfect balance of smoke and coffee. simont1 (614) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 22, 2016
Aroma of coffee, smoke, light peat, tobacco, chocolate, earthy, leather. Taste of coffee, chocolate, perfect amount of smoked malts, with a leathery almost oak vanillin like finish. Very slick and creamy, but not so thick or cloying. Well made, a bit too hoppy.
