Opaque, almost black, moderate beige head. Black coffee, unsweetened cocoa powder, smoke, and hints of toffee. Quite bitter and fairly astringent with a bit of ash. On the other hand, it is softly carbed and almost creamy. A little shy of being full bodied. Lingering bitter finish. neongolden (2005) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 29, 2017
(On tap @ MBCC 2017 Yellow Session, Copenhagen) Black pour with a tan head. Notes of nice roasted coffee really dominating, kiss of smoke, dark ashy roasted malts with a touch of caramel sweetness, chocolate, softly fruity, a little licorice, finish is dry and loaded with coffee and roast, ash, smoke, rather bitter to close out an only lightly sweet beer. Fairly long aftertaste. Medium-full bodied with no real alcohol. Really nice, about as good as smoked beer gets for me. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 26, 2017
Draught at the brewery. Pours opaque black with a faint bubbly tan head, short retention. Heavy coffee (chocolate, earthy), moderate roasty malt, prunes, smoked wood, light earthy hops and bitterness with a medium sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black color with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually. Patches of lace. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate aroma. Full-bodied with a smokey malt character and notes of roasted coffee and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around. j12601 (13298) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin tan head. Big ashy roast on the nose. Not quite smoke, but ash instead, roast, cocoa, coffee. Long roast. Medium bodied, soft roast, cocoa, chocolate and coffee. Long ashy coffee on the finish, almost acrid but still drinkable. Long cocoa and coffee, warming alcohol.

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is loaded with robust espresso upfront, a touch of smoke and moderate roasted malt. Flavour is deep and robust, with lots of coffee, a fair amount of smoked malt, roasted malt and a little cocoa. The coffee steals the show though, subduing the smoke. Wonderfully constructed. Draught @ Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017 - Yellow SessionMrTipple (6991) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2017
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel and smoke. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long chocolate, coffee, cocoa, caramel and smokey finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Intense, dark roast coffee, chocolate, dark, burnt malts, charcoal. Black, small, creamy, beige head. More dark roast coffee, cacao, charcoal, dry, dark chocolate, flat carbonation, full bodied. A touch imbalanced this Impy Porter, yet I still quite like it. Keg at MBCC Yellow Session, Copenhagen. jookos (7158) - FINLAND - MAY 26, 2017
Mbcc yellow. Black. Coffee beany nose, dryish, malty. Med bodied, clean coffee beany, smooth nice flavoured. Real smooth mellow but still with a sturdy backbone. Really like the mouthfeel. ciocanelu (3112) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - MAY 23, 2017
Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Smells like fresh roasted coffee with sugar and cream. Taste has sweet coffee at first but gets more roasty and bitter, even slightly ashy.
