Tap into a tulip glass showing pitch black with no head.
The nose shows a lot of bourbon forwardness of smoke, oak, and vanilla.
The palate is full bodied and lightly carbonated. Very bourbon forward with vanilla appearing on the mid-palate that transitions to a light caramel/vanilla sweetness but strong bourbon background throughout. Moderate alcoholic heat through with more bourbon on the finish. Another BA stout that is just bourbon without any nuance. Jmuncey (16) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 17, 2016
I typically love bourbon barrel stouts however this one is a bit too bourbon forward and it is a bit hard on the palate.
