Bottled (BB 12/2009). Dark nut brown color, good cloudy beige head. Typical German dunkel aroma with caramel and some grassy hoppyness. Chocolaty caramel and butter in the flavor. Aftertaste is hoppy. Balanced dunkel.

500ml bottle (OPP, Helsinki, German Weeks 2009)
Very dark red, small head. Rich malty body, touch of roast. Some green hops in the finish. Pleasant crisp carbonation, plenty of caramel, or even treacly, retronasals. Not tremendously exciting, but pretty solid.

Buegelverschlußflasche(from the Bodam-Lake ;-)!): A bit hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, stable mid-sized off-white head; metallic traces in the caramelly-grainy nose, a very delicate dash of hops as well;mild sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied; light and dry caramelly and bitter finish. Not very good…

Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2009
It’s dark brown with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and the flavor is slightly sweet with light notes of smoke and roasted malt, caramel and light licorice. A pleasant dunkel.
