Bottle 50cl, a clear pale amber beer with good head, retention and lacing. Nose is very fruity on resin, grapefruit, orange and grass. Aroma is very sweet on caramel and orange notes with intense bitterness, this strong bitterness has a very long duration. Nothing exceptional for 9 the bottle.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2016 From Genes. Although the cask version is 7.6% this being only 5.6% isnt this just an ESB? Much bigger hops than the Bronze. Citrusy hops for a UK brew. Decent stuff, I think I preferred the bronze through. Serving: Bottle

Bottle. Pours a hazy light orange-amber color with a moderate white head on it. Nose is surprisingly filled with citrus notes to it, which made it quite inviting. Taste is actually a bit chalky and bitter, with an almost burnt aftertaste to it. Odd and not all that pleasant.

Aroma: Honey, sugary malt and grapefruit.

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden body with a medium white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing.

Taste: Balance between bitter unripe melon and sweet honey - it tastes boozier than its 5.6% ABV. Dry, metallic finish.

Palate: Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Average carbonation.

Overall: A bit too sweet for my liking - I struggled to finish the bottle.

Bottle pour at Great Japan Beer Festival Osaka (7/13/2013). Fruity and malty (British-style) nose. Hazy gold straw color. Big hits of whiskey and tobacco. Smacky-lip sipping. Doesnt really smooth out. Some mild peppery harshness, and some rye-like notes. Interesting stuff.

Bottle at home. Dark golden with a White head. Aroma medium malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (floral, grapefruit, NZ, US, UK hops). Flavor medium sweet, medium+ bitter, light spicy. Medium+ body.

7.2% bottle at the GJBF Osaka 2013. A dark yellowish gold color, the aroma has a hint of smoke but not as strong as with the Bronze. My favorite of the three Celts I tried today. A bit of smoke, the bitterness is more balanced-quite an interesting beer, I liked it.

Wow this was a surprise! Great soft pale yellow in colour. Extra refreshing bitter which belies the strength. Very floral aroma, followed by grapefruit and pine flavours and a string citrus tang. Body medium to thin. Liked it and it certainly suited the steaming hot day.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy gold with a slight off-white head. Soft grapefruit aroma. Med body. Flavor is grapefruit and floral. Some malt background. Its definitely on the bitter side. Just a lot different from US ales. Which in this case seems to be a good thing.
