500ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a soft white head. Smell is diacetyl, herbs, pine, grass. Flavor is interesting. It starts with a slight smokey scotch flavor, it then melds into a mineraly, dry, piney flavor. A medium bitterness and subtle smokiness lingers on the palate. Interesting flavor combo, the bitterness makes htis beer worth it. Also its organic.

500ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Lovely English hop aroma, really citrussy like a very fresh EKG or Fuggles, at flame-out ot later. Not lacking in pleasant sweet malts though, a good balance. Lovely in the mouth, gentle bitterness, pleasant carbonation, pleasantly full biscuity malty sweetness, smooth, and succulent. Lovely ESB taste, perfect balance, lacking nothing. So easy to drink, and really makes you want another. In some ways there’s a bit of Fullers 1845 in it, but this is hoppier. I think I might have a few more of these, and see whether I can persuade myself to bump up one of the scores, as 3.7 seems a bit of an underrate, this is an *excellent* strong bitter.

slightly hazy amber with pillowy beige head. Pithy mandarins and Dusty hopsacks, fruity. Sprightly carbonation, pithy, slightly chalky pithy bitterness. Dry finish. Quite austere and tonnes of pith...would make a good aperitif

Ottima IPA. Corpo pieno, carbonazione precisa. Una birra veramente ben riuscita.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2016) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with orange peel, grapefruit and dried apricots. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, marmalade, grapefruit, apricots, caramel and a generous citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Really fresh and tasty with a generous citric hop character. Very nice.

Sigmund (7659) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 4, 2011
500 ml bottle, from SuperBest Hjørring. ABV is 5.6%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate but nice aroma of fruity hops, hints of orange marmalade, also notes of caramel and toffee. The flavour is medium sweet, notes of caramel and bitter orange marmalade again, plenty of grapefruity and piney hops, ending in a solid bitterness which is surprisingly sharp and distinct for a Welsh ale.

bottle. June 2013 BBD. lightly hazed bronze body with a tall and lasting off-white head. succulent coffee cake malt consumes the nose: spiced bread, honey / nectar, multi-grain crackers, clean and quite whiskey-like. hops provide balanced grass and fruit (dried pineapple and apricots) character, and the yeast is properly musty, dusty and rustic. medium-full body with a rich and sticky malt bite with touches of fresh peat; hops are modestly bitter and slightly resinous; yeast lends an old-world basement must and dried fruit quality. a bit sharp and smacking with a slight excess of alcohol for my tastes, but the body is lush and round and the carbonation full and fitting for the weight. another stellar English-style beer from Celt, and quite fresh, just arriving in state a couple of weeks ago.

Fatehunter (2568) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Two fingers of head, that held nicely. Opaque, dark straw colored body. Big lemon zest smell, some barnyard (wet grain) and honey too. A stubborn lemon bitterness up front... refuses to cease. A bit of malt sweetness comes through. Long finish with the bitter. Crisp and medium body. Fairly low carbonation. An enjoyable ale with a big helping of hops.

A very nice fruity bitterness with sweetness and a grapelike aftertaste. Amber in color with a white head.
