Celt Dark-Age is a delicious full bodied Welsh dark beer. The beer has a special blend of coffee and chocolate flavours, which are balanced with a smooth aroma with subtle notes of caramel and dark fruit, leading to a bitter finish. This beers name comes from the Dark age. Folklore has highlighted many stories of Celtic warriors and kings that waged successful battles against the intruding Anglo-Saxons. None more than King Arthur, who legend has it, fought in 12 battles in the late 5th and early 6th century.

Cask in the Euston Tap. Dark brown with reddish depths, white foam. Surprisingly bitter, agree it’s more like a low abv black ipa than anything else. Or you could just call it a dark session beer, very bitter, both hops and a bit of malts, with herbal nettle and a bit of aniseed. Moreish. Doesn’t quite sit together but went down well.

Bottled 12/07/14. A dark ruby coloured beer with a big whitish head. A really hoppy and bitter mild. Not getting chocolate, coffee, caramel or spice as per the comm description. Tasty for sure and blind this could be mistaken for a BIPA. I really liked it. An enjoyable beer whatever it is.

500ml bottle. Hazy dark brown body with a huge tan crown, that leaves loads of lacing. Roasted malt, wood, dark fruits, coffee, nuts, herbs and earthy notes. Dry earthy and bitter finish.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London on 11 July. Poured a dark ruby, with a dense, off white head. Aroma of dark fruit, grapes and oak. Rich fruit flavours, with some Christmas pudding and chocolate. Finish was grassy hop, coffee and bitter ash.

Roasty, coffee, nutty, noticably hoppy, murky Brown/ruby colour, medium tan head, dry, medium/light bite, noticable hoppiness still. Pronounced roastiness. Good body considering ABV, average carbonation, roasty and hoppy finish. Quality brew!

Roasted aroma, dark chocolate, bit of coffee a bit smokiness. Very dark red, lots of beige head, to much foaming. Taste is rich in coffee, pretty bitter, dark chocolate and coffe bitterness. A bit of malty sweetness but mostly itter. Medium body low carbonation. Nice ale, darker and more bitter than expected.

Flaska hemma - mörk men något genomskinlig och vitt skum. Tydlig beska med brända toner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
